This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Installed on a 2006 Freightliner Sprinter (T1N) 3500 140" wheelbase. On the 140" 3500, the frame member you mount to has weld junctions to other frame members right where the horizontal tabs of the hitch get bolted. These welds also caused those hitch tabs to not sit flush with the frame and had to be ground down in order for all bolts to fit in the holes of the vertical portion of the hitch. Something to look out for so you don't have to try installing the hitch twice (once pre-grind, and again after grinding some of the weld slag).
Lastly, and unfortunately for me, this hitch probably works best with a step bumper. It sticks out about 8", great if you need a new step or have the step bumper, not so great for your shins/knees. For that reason I'm returning this in favor of the Draw-Tite 75210.
The hitch for my sprinter has worked very well. It was fairly easy to install and continues to allow me to tow multiple lengths and types of trailers. I needed the hitch for a big trip in the spring of 2019 and the folks at etrailer got the unit delivered ahead of when I was expecting it. Great products delivered by great people= Happy Customers!! Would recommend these good folks.
