Very nice hitch. Wasn't impressed with the packaging. It was only wrapped in plastic and had several areas where the nice paint was scraped off....

Ford Expedition

I needed a trailer hitch for my Ford Expedition, went online and came across eTrailers and realized had had bought a hitch from them in the past for a car and had a good experience. I typed in the info for my vehicle, a half dozen choices came up, I picked the one that best fit my needs. The hitch I picked wasn't the cheapest of the bunch, but from looking at other sites, it wast about $40 dollars cheaper and FREE shipping!! It got here in a couple days (the site is about 6 hrs from my house). Unboxed it checked out the holes on the frame and everything looks good. Looking forward to installing this maybe on Sunday with the temperature in mid 50s and no rain

1999 Ford Expedition

I ordered a receiver hitch for a 1999 Expedition, after failing to find one on a shelf locally. I'm certainly glad I did-the hitch looks great, and came in around half what the auto parts stores here were asking-without know about shipping or time for delivery. The hitch came free shipping, it got here in less than a week, and it's a great deal all around.

2002 Ford Expedition

They say it takes 30 minutes to install...No way!! I was by myself and bolted this thing on in 15 minutes. I have zero experience. It arrived in 2 days and I had it on. The trailer rental place had a 2 week waiting period and wanted $120 more. I highly receommend etrailer.com.

  • Weight Distribution Hitch for 1999 Lincoln Navigator to Tow Keystone Springdale
The trailer hitches we offer for your 1999 Lincoln Navigator like the Curt # C13049 are rated for use with weight distribution so yes you could use a system when towing your Keystone Springdale that has a hitch weight of 420 lbs. You'd most likely have a loaded tongue weight under 600 lbs so for a system that would work great with that the Equal-i-Zer part # EQ37060ET would work great as it has a tongue weight range of 200 to 600 lbs.

  • How to Install Trailer Hitch that Fits 1999 Ford Expedition
The hitches we offer for your 1999 Ford Expedition like the Curt # C13049 attach to the bottom of the frame as well as to the outside of it. Sounds like maybe you have an OEM hitch that installs differently but this Curt will work great.

  • Custom Fit Trailer Hitch, Wiring, And Ball Mount For A 1999 Lincoln Navigator
For your 1999 Lincoln Navigator, I recommend taking a look at the: -Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13049. This trailer hitch has a maximum towing capacity of 6,000lbs, and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 600lbs, however I recommend taking a look at your owner's manual for your vehicle's maximum towing capacities, and ensure you're utilizing the lowest number between the hitch and vehicle. Additionally, for a complete towing setup you're going to need wiring # C55344, and a ball...

  • Parts Needed toTow with 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition
To tow trailers with your 2000 Ford Expedition you will need a trailer hitch, wiring, and a ball mount with a hitch ball. If you do not already have a trailer hitch then I recommend going with the Curt Class III # C13049. This has a Gross Trailer Weight Rating (GTW) of 6,000 lbs and a Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 600 lbs. When used with a Weight Distribution (WD) system the GTW is increased to 10,000 lbs and the TW is increased to 1,000 lbs. You will want to check your owner's manual for...

  • Will Trailer Hitch Receiver From 2005 Ford F-250 Fit A 2001 Ford Expedition?
I would be happy to recommend a trailer hitch receiver for your 2001 Ford Expedition, but the trailer hitch receiver you have from a 2005 Ford F-250 will not fit on your Expedition. For a compatible trailer hitch receiver I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13049 which is confirmed to fit your vehicle, and the 600lb tongue weight rating and 6000lb trailer weight rating will be perfect for towing a trailer, or carrying a bike rack or cargo carrier. In our experience the powder...

  • What Is The Width Of A Trailer Hitch Receiver For My 1998 Ford Expedition?
The hitch you have will not fit. The correct hitch for your 1998 Ford Expedition has a center to center hole measurement of 46-3/4" as shown in the diagram of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13049 that is designed for your vehicle. Since the hitch you have will not work I recommend going with the # C13049 due to it being made here in the USA, and having a durable powder coat finish which we have seen hold up better than the finish on other hitches. This hitch has a 600lb tongue weight...

  • How to Determine Factory Trailer Hitch Class on a 1999 Ford Expedition
The 1999 Ford Expedition most likely has a class III rated towing package from the factory. In order to determine which class you have, you can check the trailer hitch for capacity information. There is usually a sticker on the hitch that will list trailer weight and tongue weight capacities. If it reads 3500 pounds or more and the hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening, you have a class III trailer hitch. You also may be able to find the information in the owners manual for the vehicle...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution for 1998 Ford Expedition Towing 2001 Kingston Horse Trailer
As a first step, you'll want to verify the towing capacity of your Expedition. Your owner's manual should have this information. I'd recommend the Curt class III hitch, part # C13049. When used with a weight distribution system, the hitch has a maximum towing/ tongue weight capacity of 10,000/1000 lbs. To choose a weight distribution system, you'll need to first determine the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer. To that figure, add the weight of any gear stowed...

  • Receiver Needed to Carry 2 Bikes on the Back of a 2002 Ford Expedition
We do have a solution for you but I'm afraid it isn't what you want to hear. Unfortunately there are no adapters that allow a hitch receiver to mount on those locations under your bumper on your 2002 Ford Expedition. If you want to carry 2 bikes on a hitch mount bike rack then you will need to install a trailer hitch like the Curt # C13049. This gives you a 2" receiver on your Expedition that will pair perfectly with the Swagman Trailhead #S63360 . The Curt warranty does require that a...

  • How Much Can the Bumper Tow on a 2001 Ford Expedition
I took a look in the owner's manual for a 2001 Ford Expedition and it states that the factory bumper can support up to 400 lbs tongue weight and 4,000 lbs gross trailer weight. If the trailer exceeds either of these figures then you must use a frame mount hitch. That said, the frame mounted hitch is a far better option as it brings the connection point down so you can then tow level. If you try to tow with the bumper and the trailer is not level you can have issues with trailer sway. For...
