Delivery was super fast. When I opened the box, and went to install it, the arms that attached to the frame rails did not line up. The tow hitch looked to be a little bent. Possible damage in shipping. Once I bent the brackets in a little, everything seemed to work. Super fast installation. Took 15 minutes. My only recommendation would be to send lock washers instead of flat washers for a little more bolt security. Overall pleased with the product. Seems to be solid.

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendations for a 2006 Ford F-150 and Jayco Jayfeather
When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want to calculate the tongue weight of the trailer when it is loaded and ready to tow. Then you have to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle to the tongue weight of the trailer. Once you have the total tongue weight calculated, you will want to choose a system that has a tongue weight capacity range that puts your calculated total right in the middle of the range. For example, if the loaded weight...

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, And Brake Controller For A 2011 Ford F-150
For your 2011 Ford F-150, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13371, as this hitch will offer the most capacity at 600-lbs tongue weight, and an 6,000-lbs maximum GTW. However, you'll want to reference your vehicle's owner's manual for your maximum towing capacity and compare that rating to your vehicle, and utilize the lower rating between the two. For wiring, if you do not have a factory 4-flat at the rear of your vehicle you can add one with # C58044. Since you mentioned...

  • Can Trailer Hitches for 2009 Ford F-150 Be Used with Weight Distribution to Tow More than 6,000 lbs.
All of the hitches available for the 2009 Ford F-150 are rated for 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 600 pounds tongue weight capacity. However, all of the available hitches (see link) are rated for use with weight distribution which will allow the hitch to tow 10,000 pounds (# 13368) to 12,000 pounds (# 75691) depending on the hitch. These are ratings for the hitch, but not the truck. You will need to check the owners manual to determine if a weight distribution system can be used...

  • Picture Request for a Hitch Installed on a 2012 Ford Escape
Yes we do, I attached a couple pictures of the part # 75751 installed on a 2012 Ford Escape just like yours. I also attached an install video for this hitch. For trailer wiring you would want the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 118551. For ball mounts I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Recommendation for 2009 Ford F150
In order to get a square receiver for y our 2009 Ford F150, you'll need to install a frame mounted receiver hitch. The good news is we have a Class IV available as part # C14002 that has a 10000 towing/1000 lb tongue weight capacity for a reasonable price. Once the hitch is installed, you'll have additional capacity up to the towing capacity of the vehicle. You'll also be able to use a ball mount that will put your trailer at the proper height so it'll tow level. The FAQ article I've...
