The Hitch-Lock bolts to the bottom of the coupler and has a removable plate that extends out directly below where the ball goes in. With the plate angled up, the trailer is protected from someone trying to hitch up to it. When towing a trailer with the plate angled down, it prevents someone from removing the hitch ball already in the coupler.

Ordered the Hitch-Guard Trailer Lock from etrailer and originally ordered the wrong lock to go with it. Heidi helped straighten the order out with new lock. Excellent job Heidi! Then, Nicole kept me updated on shipping because order was on back order. She kept me informed of each step of the shipping... excellent customer service!! My only complaint is that upon arrival, lock requires me to modify my trailer coupler to install. I now have to get a piece of metal wielded to the bottom of coupler to have a place to install lock.
Took awhile but its the right product < br>
