If your vehicle is stuck in off-road terrain and has lost the traction it needs to escape, this recovery strap will help pull it free. The strap is designed to stretch and recoil. This means that when it is put under tension, the strap stretches until snapping back to its resting length, "slingshotting" the vehicle out of its jam.
This recovery strap has a reinforced loop at either end for securing to the tow vehicle and the recovery vehicle. Once the strap is attached, slowly move the recovery vehicle away from the stuck vehicle. This will initiate the stretch and recoil action and pull the stuck vehicle free.

Today we'll be reviewing part number EM59600. This is the Erickson Recovery Tow Strap with reinforced loop ends. It's going to be rated at 18,000 pounds. The nylon reinforced sewn ends reduce wear and they are going to let you quickly and easily attach the strap to the tow hooks. It's going to feature heavy duty webbing that can stretch an additional 10%. That's going to help sling shot out stuck vehicles. Maximum vehicle weight is going to 9,000 pounds. Rolled up here in the middle is the exact same set up that we have here. I'm going to leave that tucked in there. Again, the recovery strap is going to work to release stuck vehicles.
It's got the high tenacity nylon overlay that's going to prevent wear on the pull area which is going to be that yellow portion there. The strap dimensions, it's going to measure width of 2 inches and an overall length of 30 feet. The webbing strength is again rated at 10,000 pounds per inch of width, so the break strength is going to be 18,000 pounds and the maximum vehicle weight is going to be 9,000 pounds. It's got the nice elastic portion built in here. That's going to help secure this. Once you have the tow strap all wound back up, you put that elastic piece back over it and then you can use the included storage bag to store the strap. That's just going to allow you to keep the strap close at hand and travel with you wherever you go.

I use strapping for felling large trees where their fall path is precarious. I throw a small line in the tree, pull up the strap,and back through a looped end for a slip knot. Attaching more strapping and tying to the tractor, I drop the tree right where I need it. This kind of strap pulls up through trees and over limbs without hanging or fraying, plus, it's stronger than most rope. Great stuff. Thanks for the quick service.
this fits the bill for my snowmobile, atv, and for just moving around vehicles. Not too sure if I'd use to recover.
But if it's all I had at the time i'd give it a try.
