What we're looking at today is the Mountain Top EVO-M hard retractable Tonneau cover with some accessory T-slots. What you want to do is go to the center at the top of our website and put your vehicle's year make and model in our fit guide. And that will pair you up with the correct Tonneau cover for your specific truck. If you're wanting to cover the contents of your pickup truck's bed and also have extra T-slots up top for more accessories, the Mountain Top EVO-M is gonna be a great option for you. The one thing that sets this Tonneau cover apart from all the others is this: 450 pounds of evenly distributed weight up on the Tonneau cover. It's gonna be able to handle that.

It's gonna come in handy quite a bit. One, just for those bulkier items. Maybe you don't wanna get 'em on the ground or get 'em wet. You can put 'em up on here. We can open up our tailgate and we take it off top and then put it down low like this.

You don't really get that with a lot of Tonneau covers. And I think that is pretty neat. The top of the Tonneau cover is gonna be made of aluminum slats. The cool thing about these slats is they are tongue and groove and they have a small little rubber seal in between each one of them. So you'll see, as I kind of moved this in, they work pretty well with each other.

That's really what gives the Tonneau cover its rigidity. It's gonna snap into place. So it all fits in this little tiny canister and it's all aluminum. So you don't have to worry about it rusting away over time. The canister's a lot smaller than some of the others that we have on our site.

So you still have a lot of room underneath the canister. And I'd say it's about 13 inches from the bottom to the bottom of our canister. But the lowest point I guess, is gonna be over here which is just on the sides. And that's about 12 and 1/2 inches. So there's plenty of room to be able to put some totes and stuff back here. So you can still utilize almost your whole bed. And those measurements are for our truck right now. It may differ a little bit but that's a give you a rough idea of how much room you're taking up. With canisters, they typically collect a little bit of water but on both sides we're gonna have a little drain tube here that you just drill through the bulkhead of your bed. And it's just gonna route all that water out. So there's no stagnant water in your canister. This is pretty much gonna work with any type of truck that you have. If you do have a bare bed like ours, it's gonna work fine. It just connects to the rails on the inside of the bed of your truck. But if you do have a spray in liner, that'll be fine as well. If you do have a drop in liner, you may have to maybe trim out the sides a little bit to make these clamps fit. All Tonneau covers attach with these type of clamps. And I've never really had an issue with them. Accessory T-slots on your Tonneau cover is amazing because we do cover up our steak pockets. We just need to remove this cap here. There's a little button on the inside. I tried to do it with my fingers and it's just a little too big, but I take just an Allen key just push this little tab in and should slide it right out. And that exposes our little T-slot. So you're gonna have to remove that cap to put anything on or take anything off and you can use different brands if it is the same size, I'd say about 3/8 tall. And the overall width of the track is a little shy of one inch. So if your accessories that you may already have have T-slot adapters for 'em and it fits within that measurement right there, you'll be able to use it for that. These are only gonna be used for bars that go across and then you could put your accessories on those but just know that you could put bars just like a lower profile ladder rack with a Tonneau cover, which is pretty neat. What you're seeing right now is the Mountain Top crossbar kit for this specific Tonneau cover. Works pretty well. They're gonna have 165 pound capacity. The nice thing about this is we can slide them to match whatever type of accessories that we're wanting. We tighten 'em down. And they do come with locking caps as well. So if you're using T-slotted accessories up here, it's gonna be nice and safe and locked into place. So there's a lot you can really do. I think this is a great setup for a rooftop tent. The sweet thing about T-slots on your Tonneau cover is when you're not using the bars since we have a canister up here, you can just slide them all the way to the end like this. So you can still use your bed exactly how you we're before you put the bars on here. This will move both sides relatively evenly. And we still have enough room for a couple different bars. If you really wanted to, which I think would be pretty cool. You get two sets of these and have four bars for a lot of different types of accessories, and you're still gonna be within the canister length. So you're not taking up any more room on your bed. You can drive with it like this because it is locked into place. There's gonna be little red pole strings right here on both sides. So that's gonna unlock it. And that'll allow you to pull this all the way back. And you're also gonna get a little rope with it which the rope is gonna be nice. So you don't have to get all the way in there every single time. But notice what I did. If you look underneath, I actually had it connected here and it comes all the way through. And I actually looped it around this little red pole string because whenever we send this all the way back and it's in the locking mode, if we didn't route it like that, every single time we'd have to pull this and then pull the rest of the string. But since I put it through that, all you have to do now is just grab it and it'll do it automatically. I think that's pretty ingenious if I do say so myself 'cause it just makes it a lot easier to use it. If you have a locking tailgate, all the stuff on the inside of your bed is out of sight and locked. The cool thing about this Tonneau cover is the aluminum slats up top, it's tongue and groove. So there's not just rubber in between it, there's metal underneath that. So it's gonna be knife proof. So people can't really get into it. If you have a soft Tonneau cover all you need is scissors or a knife just to get in there. So this is probably one of the most heavy duty and secure way to keep the stuff in your bed in your bed. The one thing about this Tonneau cover is it does sit relatively tall on top of the bed rails. It's about two inches up there but that's actually kind of good. So if you look on the inside here we're not really taking away any height issues, maybe a half an inch at the very most. So this whole entire slap, the top part of our Tonneau cover is gonna sit exactly where the top of your bed rails are. So that's gonna be great for your fifth wheels. And if your fifth wheel is not gonna be any taller than the rails of your truck, I do think that this is gonna be the better option. If I we're to compare it I'm gonna compare it to the RetraxPRO XR. That one is more flush. It's gonna take a little bit more height off the inside of your bed but it's still gonna have the knife proof slats over there. It's gonna have the canister, which is around the same exact size, still gonna have the tracks. But if you don't have a locking tailgate, it has a lock right here. So those are some options for you. I like the RetraxPRO because it doesn't add this extra little bit but I don't have a fifth wheel in my bed. The RetraxPRO is a little bit of a higher end Tonneau cover but I like it because it sits nice and flat and there is a ladder rack option you can get. It's the Yakima ladder rack. And this one right here just has the accessory bars that are relatively lower. So if you did want to carry some kayaks and not have that added length to the back of your truck, definitely go with the Retrax and grab the ladder rack option from Yakima 'cause then you can have stuff over your cab if need be. Tonneau covers are really great for security, especially this style that has the aluminum slats. That's knife proof. If you have a locked in tailgate this is gonna be awesome for you especially if you do have a fifth wheel too. It's gonna give you the most amount of height out of your bed. So you're not really limiting yourself with that. All in all, I think this is gonna be a great option for you. There's not a whole lot of Tonneau covers like this and the fact that I can just put weight on this thing is also pretty cool.
