Nice tail gate. I put 3/8 all thread rod in each end and put between 2 stands for I could turn it to paint it. I took the rings off latch and put a washer on each one they closed a lot easier1023862

Tailgate is of solid quality and does just what it is supposed to - this is the second one I have purchased. Supplied instructions (esp. the pictures) from Stromberg leave a bit to be desired, but with enough head scratching you can figure them out. Note - be cautious if you use the install video narrated by the bearded young man - he has the rubber latch pads incorrectly installed. Also, contrary to what this gentleman states, I cannot find replacement tailgate safety cables for sale on etrailer. The cables they show as recommended for purchase with this tailgate are not for this purpose.407155

Still fully satisfied with this tailgate. Did solve the cable issue. Just measure up the originals on your truck and head to your local auto parts store. The ones needed for my 2017 Silverado are sold as replacements for a Toyota.

I was a little confused in the order process. I had a Ford truck with the open tailgate that did not fit my new Chevy. I wanted to make sure I was ordering the correct one for my truck. The one I got from etrailer fits perfectly.
The tailgate arrived with the box taped at the corner and the tailgate had a crimp in it. I was given a part credit toward paint and it will be fixed to be perfect like my new truck. I am completely satisfied.223110

I am completely satisfied with the tail gate. It works very well and also saves me fuel mileage. The reason I purchased was because I own a fifth wheel and knew it was a matter of time before I damaged the factory tailgate. I can back under the trailer with no issues or damage to the truck or trailer. Thank you very much. I am also looking for a stone guard to attach to the truck receiver and would appreciate any info you can give me. 282598

2016 Chevrolet Silverado

Great product makes hooking up my trailer much easier. Only wish I could get a back-up camera that would easily hook up to my 2016 Silverado I miss my back-up camera when I remove my OEM tailgate.752684

This product fit well. it took 30 minutes or so the install.
One the the parts came in damaged.
Etrailer was helpful and placed the replacement on order.

I ordered also the hardware package for future use 5 to 8 years down the road.

I also order new tailgate straps and left the originals with the tail gate that was removed.

This tailgate went on a new truck so I plan to have it painted.
I am pleased with the outcome.183896

This is a great medium duty tailgate. I like it because I can reach thru the gaps to my tool boxes.1309636

The product went onto the bed of the Chevy nicely. It looks very nice contrasted against the white body paint. The adjustment of the latches took a little time but by the third attempt the tailgate does not rattle while driving down the road. The hinges work well and the latches come open easily.

The tailgate arrived in a timely fashion with no damage. It was a lot more heavy duty than I thought it would be from the description. It is a very sturdy and well built tailgate for the price. The black powder coating looks great but I'll be painting mine this weekend to match the color of my truck. I would definitely recommending buying this tailgate if you have a fifth wheel and you don't want to spend a fortune.338718

So far so good, the part was received without issue and very much ontime. The condition from shipping shows no issues although the box was beatup on the ends which concerned me because this is the thinnest part of the tail gate. The part was in good condition and I was surprised on how heavy and durable it looks. I have not installed it as of yet but will followup in about a year after I have had a chance to use it.262137

I have had a lot of people comment on how they like the gate it works out good for me hauling my 5th wheel1082917

I had but one gripe, there was a weld in the way of putting the passenger side bracket in and had to grind the bracket back to work around the weld. after that all went well and after adjusting the the latches, it closes tight and secure. will need to put gate support cables on it for ease of mind. the look , fit and finish are great .1133858

Skip welds appeared to be to hot in some spots giving the appearance of weld lines on the finished side.
Had to grind down the weld were the pivot bracket had to be attached.
Tailgate will work great for our needs, just think the price was a bit high for the quality of this item.1025885

Still works great I do think it should come with the factory cables I bought after market one and they didn’t hold up at all so disappointed in the fact it didn’t come with cables to hold the tailgate when it is down

Awesome! Purchased this for my gas 17 GMC, then we upgraded our 5th wheel and changed trucks to a 15 Chevrolet Diesel. Swapped over with no mods needed.
