How to install pivot tube on passenger sid. Do I cut the existing tube off and bolt on new one? Original is welded and I bought the 1077 hardware kit and new one comes with screws

I spoke with a representative from Stromberg Carlson about the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with Open Design for GM Trucks, part # VGM-14-100. I was informed the passenger side pivot ring should not be welded to the end plate. It is bolted on because different model trucks do not use the same passenger side pivot ring. I was told if your pivot ring has been welded on the end plate, you can cut it off and bolt the new pivot ring on its place.

I have included a video of this tailgate being installed on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado below.
