Today, on our 2007 Ford F250 Super Duty we'll take a look at I'm gonna show you how to install replacement 150 amp motor solenoid for Fisher Snowplow. That's what our solenoids gonna look like once we install. This is gonna be a direct replacement for the original solenoid. What the solenoid basically does it's basically an on and off switch for your plow. It's gonna have a power wire that runs to your battery and have wires that run down to your snow plow so you're able to shut turn it off and on from inside the vehicle. It's connected to your positive side of your battery so you're always gonna have power to it.
But again, it is a switch it allows you to control it from the inside. Another nice thing about this new replacement solenoid, it's gonna come with all the hardware. We're not gonna have to use anything or transfer anything from our old one. Now that we've gone over some of the features let me show you how I installed it. But what we're gonna start with is we're gonna start by disconnecting it from the battery.
10 millimeter socket. We're just gonna remove the positive cable that's running over to it. (cranking noise) I'll start with this top one which is gonna be that positive cable. I'm not gonna worry about transferring this one right onto my new one because I know where it's gonna go. So I'll set it up there for now.
Take Off this bottom one. We'll be using a half inch socket by the way for our old one. I'm gonna try to pay attention to where you have what wires so you can put them back in the same orientation. And we'll go ahead and remove the solenoid from the inside of our engine compartment. We can go ahead and put in our new one.
We're just gonna put it right in place of our old one. We can then installing our wires back in the positions that they were on the first solenoid. I'm gonna start here on the bottom. It's easier. That's gonna complete the installation. That'll do it for a look at an installation on the replacement 150 amp motor solenoid for Fisher Snowplows on our 2007 Ford F250 Super Duty.
