Over time, waste can build up along the inside of your RV's sewer pipes and holding tank. This can lead to nasty sewer odors, or worse, clogged plumbing. The Valterra Pure Power packets are designed to help break down lingering waste in your RV's plumbing, eliminating odors and keeping your sewer pipes from backing up. And with a pre-measured, biodegradable compound, just 1 pouch can treat up to 40 gallons. Just fill your toilet bowl, drop in the pouch, and flush.

Video Transcript for Valterra RV Starter Kit with Pure Power Blue and Bucket Review

What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we'll be checking out this RV starter kit from Valterra. We're going to open up and kind of go through each item individually. I'll kind of explain how they're used, but I'm also going to give you suggestions to get some other add-on parts to make things easier on your adventures. Let's check it out.Right away I want to point out something different that this kit does than all the other ones, is you get this bucket with it.

It's nice that you can keep all the waste and sewer hoses in here. That way they're not, if there's anything extra, it's not dripping, or getting inside your camper, or anything, you can keep it all contained in here and you can use this to help wash it too. Just dump some water and soap in there and get it cleaned out.First thing we're going to check out is our freshwater hose. This one spans 25 feet so that's plenty to get this end to your city water connection at the camp site, and this end to your rig. Now the kit does also include this water regulator.

You're going to screw this on the side that connects to the city water connection on the campsite. And it's going to help regulate the pressure coming out because those things might have 100 PSIs of pressure coming through. Your pipes on your rig aren't designed for that, you could actually blow one of them and it might not be right then, but it could be down the line when it's harder to fix. So having one of these is really helpful driving from a hundred PSIs to a say 50 PSIs that your rig can handle. Now we're ready to hook up our hose to our rig. When I go to the city water connection right here and just screw it in.

Now the water can run up into here and you've got water. Now, things I recommend adding too, as you can see, the hose can come down and get pinched because it has no support. So you can get one of these brass hose savers that actually screws into this side, and the bent will be here in the brass. So you don't have to worry about damage your hose over a long time. We're going to screw that one in the same way we would do the hose. Get my hand out of the way so you guys can see.

Now we attach our hose down here. You can see there's no more bent, it goes straight down. It's not putting any extra stress on the hose, it's here and this is going to hold up way longer along with the hose lasting way longer with the help of this.Other thing I was thinking about adding is a water filter. They have external ones that'll screw in right here between the hose and our hose saver here. That way, the water from the campsites filtered on its way into the rig because you don't know how good they have it filtered and sometimes it's just not good water. You want to make sure it's nice and filtered for when you got it inside. This is the power converter that comes with the kit. It works with 15 to 30 amps. So if you have a 30 amp plug on your rig, like we do here, you can just plug it in. like that. Now you can plug it in to your house, like your garage or something like that. If you we're setting up your RV for the weekend, you're getting it cleaned up, you want the lights on just running the electricity, you can plug in your house with this adapter. Now, I don't know necessarily if this is the best way to do it, I would be more inclined to get a power cord like this. This kind of adapter, because I think it's just going to hold up way longer. And when you're messing with electricity, you want to make sure you're safe and your equipment doesn't wear out. So you can see how much more heavy duty this one is and it's easier with the loops to unplug it.It also comes with a few things to help you in the bathroom. You got four rolls of two-ply toilet paper. They're safe for your tank on your rig, because you can't use the same toilet paper that's in your house. Plumbing's not the same. It's going to gunk things up and cause issues down the line. So just stick this on paper and you'll be okay. Another thing to help with the tanks is this bio pouch here. You're going to drop that in your toilet. It's going to help break down the things that are in your tank. So that way toilet paper gets broken down, waste gets broken down so when you go to dump the tank, it'll be very easy. It also adds a nice scent to the inside of your RV so it won't be smelling.Next up, we have the sewer hoses, but before we even touch the sewer hoses, you should always be wearing gloves when you're messing with that. The sewer hose itself spans 10 feet long, fully extended. It feels like it's pretty durable. I can push on it, doesn't feel like it's going to crush easily and I can pull it pretty tight here. And it doesn't seem like it's going to rip, I don't see anything about to rip here. So that's good for when you're fully extending it to get to the dump tank and they have plenty of room with it. It's got a bayonet fitting on this side. So we'd attach it here, just turn and these would slide into place and lock it in. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with the sewer attachment here on this end. You can buy it separately, but I feel like if you're buying a starter kit, it should probably be included. That being said, I want to give you another option. Valterra also offers a kit with the easy coupler which got this hose that has both ends on it. That way they're not leaving you having to buy an extra part. You have the bayonet fitting on this side, and this side it comes with the sewer attachment that just goes on there. The bayonet style, like I said, just twist it in place. It's locked in there. This is a all-in-one kit here. I like that it has the sewer connection because it fits three, three and a half, and four inch dump tags. That way whatever size it is at the campsite, it's going to fit. Also clear so you can see when you're dumping the tank and it's clear in here it's all clean.Overall. I think it's an okay starter kit. I think it's missing some crucial items that you're going to need on your adventures. That's why I recommended some extra stuff to help build on if you go with this one, or if you go with the other one I recommended, you can still add those extra things on there and make life easier. I think that does it for our look at this kit. I hope that helped..

The sewer hose says 10' but recoils back to about 6' when you stretch it out. Other than that the kit is ok.
