Today, we'll be taking a quick look at the butyl tape for enclosed trailers. This is going to be an important part of your installation of a roof air conditioner, a vent, a fan or anything you want me to install your enclosed trailer or RV. The butyl tape is going to create a watertight seal between that accessory and the top of your roof. It also helps to get that adhered to the roof membrane. You can also use this to actually install a new roof membrane on your enclosed trailer. It's made of a synthetic polymer based-material, so it's going to stay flexible even after years of service, but also the adhesion actually improves over time. When you first put this in place, after about 24 hours, it's going to really get tacky, and the longer it stays on there, the better it holds.
It works in the hot, cold, it doesn't really matter. It's nice and pliant. Whenever you're going to install this, you can just tear off the chunk to match the size that you need. It kind of squishes down into place, so whenever you're installing your hardware, typically you'll have your butyl tape down on the roof of your vehicle or whatever you're installing this onto. You put the vent over that with the shroud going over that butyl tape, put it in your hardware, and then seal it off with some self-leveling sealant. Now, the self-leveling sealant, vents, air conditioners, all those kinds of things, you can find all those here etrailer.com if you need to pick any up, including the roof membrane as well. We've got a lot of options here for your additional parts of that install. But this material is going to definitely help to make sure that you have no issues with water leaking in and causing damage to your gear inside your enclosed trailer or the enclosed trailer itself.
Now, this measures 50 feet long. Our butyl tape is 8th of an inch thick and it's 3/4s of an inch wide. You can see it's already kind of tacky right now, and the longer it stays attached to your roof, again, better it's going to adhere. It's made in the USA.And that's going to do it for our look at the butyl tape for enclosed trailers.

Use this butyl tape beneath the roof vent on top of your trailer. It adheres to roof membranes and surfaces such as aluminum, glass, and galvanized steel. The tape seals gaps and prevents water from leaking in.The tape worked well after I got it back in shape. There wasn’t any packing paper to keep the butyl tape in place during shipment. As instructed by etrailer I let in warm in the sun and it went back into shape beautifully. etrailer gave me the information to help me and would have sent me more if the tape was unusable. Happy customer!
product looks good the packaging could be better a little smashed
