Hey everyone, I'm Ellen, here at Etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the AlphaBond Systems, AlphaBonding roofing tape. So this is a nice roll of tape that's going to help to do any kind of repairs on your roof membrane. Maybe you just have a little tiny patch that you need to repair, or you want to go around the edges and clean things up. This allows you to do that. It adheres to a lot of different surfaces. So it should be good for all kinds of uses on your roof to make sure that you don't have any kind of leaks or damage to that roof membrane and that no water gets down into your RV causing any further damage.
So let's talk a little bit further about some of those details and how you can use this. This roll does measure about 50 feet long and it's three inches wide.This is going to be the white configuration. It's also available in black. So depending on what kind of color you have on your RV, or maybe what accessories you're trying to go around, that's going to determine which color you want. Just kind of match it up there.
This can adhere to any kind of clean and dry surface with a steel roller. It is pressure sensitive. So as soon as you push it onto place, it should adhere instantly and it can be formed around different objects so that it's going to create a nice seal, even around different kinds of contours. It can adhere to wood, metal, fiberboard, and other roofing membrane material. It's made out of mixed elastomers in the base.
And it has a TPO facer to resist the damage caused by any kind of UV rays. It is made in the USA.Again, measures 50 feet long by three inches wide. It softens between 240 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. So it should be good for all kinds of temperatures, even in high heat. The viscosity is 13,000 to 20,000 centipoise.
Tensile strength is between 4,000 and 5,000 PSI. Shear strength is 50 to 60 PSI. Surface temperature range goes from -20 degrees Fahrenheit up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and you can apply this anywhere between -10 degrees Fahrenheit up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. So pretty flexible, pretty durable stuff to put on your roof, and keep everything rolling as it should. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right piece for you. The plastic backing is very very hard to remove and you end up sticking the tape to itself. You also get a bunch of mastic stuck to your fingers trying to mess with the backing. Once applied, the tape is too thin and the top white layer is thin. The mastic is also half the thickness of the Eternabond tape
I had a roof leak on my 40 ft Tiffin Phaeton and it appears to be along the roof seam. I bought this tape in 50 ft lengths to seal the seam. It did the job fine and no more leaks along the inside. I figured I should be good for several years before needed it again. I bought two colors to match portions of the roof. Sorry no photos because it is on the roof and you can barely see it.
