Very buggy the unit would have constant crashes just with going through the menus. NEVER TRUSTED IT to actually make a change to my truck.

It works

Quality product, installs easily. Gave the Colorado a little more HP and torque.
Averaged 12 MPG towing a Vibe T20QB travel trailer (4600lbs dry wt.)

by:

Easy plug and play 87 octane tune gives better throttle response and shifts reprogrammed the speed limiter a bigger speed on a Chevy Avalanche and it worked perfectly plug and play install took 10 minutes which was mostly running the cable to the OBD port

by:

It works! Seems rather flimsy. To go from screen to screen is pretty complicated. (Although I'm not the most techno Savey person either!) But in the end it did improve my mileage by a solid 3mpg! So that makes it worth having! I have it on an 07 chevy Duramax used for towing, for that it does a good job!

  • Recommended Programmer for 2004 Ford F-150 with Triton V8 5.4 Liter Motor
For your 2004 Ford F-150 with Triton V8 5.4L, I would recommend the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner - Color Screen # EP59YR. This module can be quickly installed to provide 3 separate performance programs--transmission, tow performance, and high performance. It is rated to increase output buy up to 35 horsepower and adds up to 50 foot lbs of torque from stock levels. This is a significant difference from other tuners for your 2004 F-150. This programmer will allow you to adjust...

  • Can an Edge Programmer be Left in the Highest Tune Setting
As long as you are meeting the fuel octane requirements that the Edge Programmer part # EP59YR has you can leave it in the highest setting as long as you want, and it won't damage anything.

  • Does Edge Evolution for 2007 Ford F150 5.4L Lariat work with Cold-Air Intake and Cat-Back
Our programmers like the Edge Evolution CTS3 # EP15051 work great with minor bolt-ons like you mentioned of cold air intakes and cat-back exhausts. That's basically as far as you can go though. If you were to install long tube headers or make any other modifications, you would have to look into a custom tuner.

  • Fuel Type Required for Tow and High Performance Settings When Using Edge Evolution Tuner EP59YR
The Edge Evolution Performance Tuner # EP59YR for Ford V8s does have various tune levels you can choose from, some of them will require higher octane fuel. If you planned to run the high performance tune in your vehicle you will need to run premium fuel, or if the priority was running the cheapest fuel available you could always use the stock tune or the transmission only tune that doesn't have high octane requirements.

The exact method of getting to a towing tune on your Edge programmer is going to depend on the programmer model (# EP85300 is for diesels so would not be on an F-150). For Evolution CTS3 touchscreen model # EP59YR enter the Quick Link menu, then press the Performance Tuning icon, then select the towing tune. • Does the Gear Ratio Need to be Changed with Bigger Tires on Edge Programmer Part # EP59YR
No, you will not need to adjust the gear ratio setting on the Edge Evolution Programmer part # EP59YR when changing from the factory tire size. The gear ratio setting should only be changed if a different ratio ring and pinion set has been installed in which the tuner would be needed in order for the vehicle's ECU to recognize the change. The tire size setting is more or less to ensure the vehicles speedometer remains consistent and accurate. For everyday driving, I recommend using the...

  • How Important Is Fuel Octane With Edge Programmers for Ford F-150
With programmers like the Edge Evolution part # EP59YR you always have to make sure you are meeting the minimum fuel octane rating. Otherwise, you run a high risk of causing major internal damage to your engine due to detonation. If for some reason you can't access the fuel needed for the tune you are running, you need to switch to a tune with a lower octane requirement.

  • Edge Evolution Programmer OBDll Code P2004 and P2006
The P2004 manifold runner control stuck open and P2006 manifold runner control stuck closed OBDII code is being read directly from the engines PCM, so it's not being caused by the programmer. It's recommended that you check the intake runner control module actuator or for a restricted vacuum line. This could also be indicative of failure of the PCM itself.

  • Will Adding An Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Tuner Help My 2016 Ford F-150 Tow A Travel Trailer
A tuner would be a good idea under these circumstances. While it would not increase your 2016 Ford F-150's towing capacity, it would help the engine run more efficiently while towing your travel trailer. I did some research, your vehicle is rated to tow up to 8,500 lbs. My tuner recommendation is the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner - Color Screen, part # EP59YR. This is a custom tuner that is compatible with your Ford F-150. It comes installed with four pre-programmed power...

  • How To Unmarry An Edge CTS2 Tuner
Hey Kyle, In order to unmarry your CTS2 from the vehicle you'll have to go into the tune menu and look for 'return to stock' or 'backup'. This will walk you through the necessary steps to return your truck back to factory tune and unmarry the tuner from your vehicle. It's designed this way to help prevent theft since the unit is basically a brick for other vehicles while it's married to a different one.

  • Is Different Octane Gas Needed when Using an Edge Programmer on a 2008 Ford F-150 5.4L
When using a programmer such as the Edge tuner # EP59YR there are specific octane levels needed depending on which setting you are using. The higher performance settings require higher octane. Using the wrong octane will not damage the tuner but will affect how the truck runs in a given tune. • Will Using an Edge Tuner with Cold Air Intake Cause a Lean Condition on a 2011 F-150 5.0L
Edge does have a warning in the owner's manuals for their programmers warning against "stacking" performance products. They do not specify any particular years, makes, models, or engines so it could affect any vehicle. In the case of cold air intake when used with a programmer it can cause an overly lean condition and damage the motor. If you already had the CAI installed for a while and then installed a programmer it is less likely that there would be any problems. You should be able...

Running higher octane fuel than required for a vehicle won't harm it or hurt it at all. If the vehicle runs fine on regular octane fuel there would be nothing gained by running premium. • Why Would an Edge Programmer be Stuck In Demo Mode
I spoke to my contact at Edge and he informed me that the only way an Edge programmer like the part # EP59YR that you referenced would stay in demo mode is if it is also ran to a power source outside of the OBDII connection. It sounds like you may have the USB cable run from the programmer to a cigarette lighter outlet as well as plugged into the OBDII port and that is why it is still in demo mode. You will want to make sure that the programmer is only connected to the OBDII port and...

The intake has an estimated gain of up to 17 horsepower and the programmer up to 24.4 horsepower.
