Very buggy the unit would have constant crashes just with going through the menus. NEVER TRUSTED IT to actually make a change to my truck.

It works

Quality product, installs easily. Gave the Colorado a little more HP and torque.
Averaged 12 MPG towing a Vibe T20QB travel trailer (4600lbs dry wt.)

by:

Easy plug and play 87 octane tune gives better throttle response and shifts reprogrammed the speed limiter a bigger speed on a Chevy Avalanche and it worked perfectly plug and play install took 10 minutes which was mostly running the cable to the OBD port

by:

It works! Seems rather flimsy. To go from screen to screen is pretty complicated. (Although I'm not the most techno Savey person either!) But in the end it did improve my mileage by a solid 3mpg! So that makes it worth having! I have it on an 07 chevy Duramax used for towing, for that it does a good job!

  • Edge Performance Tuner for 1999 Ford F-150 XLT with 5.4L V8 Engine
The aftermarket performance tuners/monitors that we offer for your 1999 Ford F-150 XLT with 5.4L V8 engine are shown on the linked page. The Edge Evolution Programmer # EP15051 fits only later model years, 2004 through 2008. The Superchips Dashpaq Performance Tuner - 2.4" Color Screen - Gas - Ford # SU1060. which can use used along with the custom dash mounting pod # EP18550. This tuner can deliver power gains in both horsepower and torque. It can be stacked with a cold air intake provided...

  • Performance Tuner for 2007 Ford F150 5.4L w/ Cold Air Intake That Wont Make Engine Run too Lean
According to my Edge representative, using an older tuner like the # EP15051 in conjunction with a CAI kit can indeed cause the engine to run excessively lean and stall out. A CAI by itself can cause an engine to run a bit leaner, but when a tuner like the Evolution # EP15051 can make the lean condition worse. Newer tuners like the CTS3 # EP59YR actually offer a CAI-dedicated tune that will adjust for the CAI and prevent the engine from running too lean. A transmission only mode is also...

  • Is Performance Tuner Available For 2014 Ford E350 With 5.4L Triton Engine
We offer monitors that are designed to work with your 2014 E350, but we do not offer a programmer that would allow you to make changes for performance. The Edge Evolution Programmer, part # EP59YR is not designed to work with the E350 van. If you are interested in a monitor, I recommend the Edge Insight CS2, part # EP84030. This monitor allows you to view 8 different parameters at one time. This system monitors the engine performance and also runs and clears trouble codes.

  • Edge Programmer Recommendation for a 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 Liter V8
For your 2007 Ford F-150 the Edge CS2 Programmer part # EP85350 that you mentioned would be the perfect choice. It will work well with the bolt-on modifications you currently have and it doesn't quite break the bank like the CTS3 # EP59YR. This will give you up to 35 horsepower and 45 ft lbs of torque and will allow you to fix your speedometer based on the tire size you currently have.

  • Can a Programmer and Cold Air Intake be Used at the Same Time on a 2013 Ford F-150 5.0L
Yes, you can use both cold air intake # AR402-299 and Flashpaq programmer # SU1845 together at the same time on your 2013 Ford F-150 with 5.0 liter motor. The intake has an estimated gain of up to 17 horsepower and the programmer up to 24.4 horsepower. But these figures don't stack meaning that using both doesn't necessarily mean that you will see a gain of 31.4 horsepower. It will likely be slightly less. For a programmer with a larger display and comparable power gains you can use the...

For your 2018 Ford F-150 I really like the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP59YR. This tuner will plug right into the OBD-II port on your truck so that you can re-program the ECM for increased power and fuel economy. A really nice part about this system is the included 5 inch high resolution, full-color touchscreen that will let you scroll and swipe through different menu options and parameters. For your 2018 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost I recommend the Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Performance Tuner # EP59YR because it can give you up to 65 horsepower and 90 ft lbs of torque. Also because it works as a gauge display that will allow you to view several engine parameters in real time. It also has a large touch screen that is super easy to see and use.

  • Does Edge Evolution for 2007 Ford F150 5.4L Lariat work with Cold-Air Intake and Cat-Back
Our programmers like the Edge Evolution CTS3 # EP15051 work great with minor bolt-ons like you mentioned of cold air intakes and cat-back exhausts. That's basically as far as you can go though. If you were to install long tube headers or make any other modifications, you would have to look into a custom tuner.

  • How To Unmarry An Edge CTS2 Tuner
Hey Kyle, In order to unmarry your CTS2 from the vehicle you'll have to go into the tune menu and look for 'return to stock' or 'backup'. This will walk you through the necessary steps to return your truck back to factory tune and unmarry the tuner from your vehicle. It's designed this way to help prevent theft since the unit is basically a brick for other vehicles while it's married to a different one.

  • Settings For Edge Evolution Programmer # EP59YR on 2005 Ford F-150
I contacted our representative at Edge about the Edge Evolution Programmer # EP59YR, on your 2005 Ford F-150. He informed me that for the shift points, it really depends on the truck and if there are any other modifications done. If the truck does not have any other performance upgrades, Edge does not recommend messing with the shift points. You will not be able to advance or retard the timing on your truck with the Edge # EP59YR. With the Wide Open Throttle Setting or (WOT), you will...

  • Will I Need to Use High Octane Fuel With an Edge Programmer
Edge programmers like the Edge Evolution Programmer # EP59YR that you referenced have various tune levels you can choose from, some of them will require higher octane fuel. If you planned to run the high performance tune in your vehicle you will need to run premium fuel, or if the priority was running the cheapest fuel available you could always use the stock tune or the transmission only tune that doesn't have high octane requirements.

  • What Happens if You Run Low Octane Fuel with Edge Gas Evolution CTS3 Programmer
If you run a lower octane fuel than what the tune level requires you will potentially cause damage to the engine. I strongly recommend not doing this. If you have to go with a lower octane fuel you have to lower the tune level. You'll end up with spark knock otherwise which blow head gaskets or potentially cause other catastrophic engine failure.

  • Do Edge Programmers Put Additional Strain on Vehicle Battery
Programmers like the Edge Evolution Programmer # EP15051 do not put any additional strain on the charging system of a vehicle. Most likely what happened is that your battery was in a weakened state and during the programming process the battery got ran down a bit since the key has to be turned on without the engine running. Either way, a healthy battery/alternator can handle this without a problem so the problem you have now would have come up eventually. With that being said, we have...

  • Is Different Octane Gas Needed when Using an Edge Programmer on a 2008 Ford F-150 5.4L
When using a programmer such as the Edge tuner # EP59YR there are specific octane levels needed depending on which setting you are using. The higher performance settings require higher octane. Using the wrong octane will not damage the tuner but will affect how the truck runs in a given tune. • Important Temperatures to Monitor When Towing and How to Lower the Temperatures If Needed
The key temperatures to monitor when towing are the transmission fluid, engine oil and coolant temperatures. Each of these fluids will have different ranges that you will want to stay within. For transmission fluid, the ideal operating temperature is between 160 and 200 degrees. If you find that you are running over 200 degrees, I would recommend installing a supplemental transmission cooler, like part # D13504, if you do not already have one. I also recommend using the Ford radiator...

When you don't need extra power for towing or hauling with your 2006 Ford F-150 with 5.4L Triton, your best daily use setting on the Edge # EP59Yr is the Mileage Coach program. I usually turn off overdrive if I am towing a trailer through a hilly road, or through heavy traffic. However, those are not the only times it would be a good idea.
