2001 Dodge Van

The Edge CS2 won't pull the PID list for my van, so I just get to see the standard PIDs/guages and cannot update to additional PIDs. Not what I was hoping for but it's good with those standard PIDs. Not sure it's worth the price for MPH, Temp, Voltage, and RPMs.

I asked the manufacturer about this and they suggested hitting the options button if you havent tried that already. They said that might bring up more PIDs for you.

1997 Honda Insight

I wanted CS2 to get eyes on my trans temp in my 1997 Ford Powerstroke XLT when I am hauling my camper. When the product arrived (a couple of days before I was expecting) I hooked it up to my computer per the instructions. One easy to follow download and twenty minutes later it was ready to go into the truck. I went out and plug it in (note: the OBDII port on my truck had a black cover on it and was located on the passenger side of the transmission hump under the dash) it would not power up. Hit the trouble shooting guide and it said check the cigarette lighter fuse. Bingo that was the culprit. For reference on my truck it is the #16 fuse which is the fuse in the upper most right hand corner of the fuse box under the steering wheel. So far I have been happy with the product. I have eyes on the trans tempt and new goal to see my truck produce 20lbs of boost (note the CS2 insight is only a monitor and will not help me get closer to this goal but it will let me see it when it happens). I was also pleasantly surprised with how stout the window mount was for the unit. It solid and holds the unit steady allowing you toggle threw the menus with one hand.

I love the Edge Insight. Shows me every vital of my truck that I need/want to see when hauling our camper and towing our boats. It was just what the doctor ordered.

I bought this to replace a 10-year-old Insight that finally gave up the ghost. This is a much needed update and I'm very happy with the final product. Keep in mind, this is only a gauge unit, not a performance programmer.

  • Why Would an Edge Product Installed on a Truck Not Have Power Level Adjustments
Since you said you couldn't find a power level option on the Edge programmer you have on your 2008 Ford F-250 there is a great chance you actually have an Insight Monitor like part # EP84030. This product only allows you to look at various engine parameters and has no programming capabilities. If your truck is a diesel you would want the part # EP96TR for a programmer/monitor.

The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit with Sandwich Adapter # D15602 is a great choice for an engine oil cooler for your 2017 Ford Explorer with a 3.5L V6, as it offers a highly effective cooler and its adapter does fit your Explorer's 22 mm x 1.5 mm engine filter threads. It will almost assuredly fit, but in order to determine for certain, you will need to take some measurements just to be sure, and you have a number of possible mounting locations, as you can see in the cut...

  • Can Transmission Fluid 130-160 Degrees and Be Safe
It's all over the internet and from the transmission cooler manufacturers we carry like Derale. 175 to 200 is a typical average transmission fluid temperature but most transmissions will operate within a range of 130-220 degrees. Being on the cooler side does allow transmission to last longer as heat is the number one killer of transmissions.

  • Monitor Recommendation for 1999 Ford F-250 to Monitor EGT and Transmission Fluid
For your 1999 Ford F-250 you would want the monitor part # EP84030 which gives you the ability to monitor the transmission temps like you are wanting (plus other info) but then to also monitor the EGT you'll need the sensor kit part # EP98620 which runs a probe to the exhaust to deliver that information as your truck does not currently have a sensor for the Edge to read from.
