How to Determine if Engine Oil Filter Will Fit 2017 Ford Explorer With 3.5L V6
Question:
What oil cooler you can recommend for my ford explorer 2017, v6, 3.5l, xlt, non ecoboost, towing capacity 5000 lbs? this oil cooler D15602 works? I saw that you have an Superchips Dashpaq part # SU1060 that makes the transmission stiffer, this will fit with my ford? I have already installed a class III hitch and brake controller both made by Curt.

The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit with Sandwich Adapter # D15602 is a great choice for an engine oil cooler for your 2017 Ford Explorer with a 3.5L V6, as it offers a highly effective cooler and its adapter does fit your Explorer's 22 mm x 1.5 mm engine filter threads.
It will almost assuredly fit, but in order to determine for certain, you will need to take some measurements just to be sure, and you have a number of possible mounting locations, as you can see in the cut out I added of the linked installation instructions. The Derale Oil Cooler # D15602 measures 13" wide x 4-9/16" tall x 2" deep so you need to measure at the locations in the instructions to see if you have that much space in your Ford.
In regards to the performance chip, I checked with both Superchips and Edge, who also manufacture tuners, and there is not a performance chip/tuner that will work with your 2017 Explorer. The closest option is a display, the Edge Insight CS2 Comprehensive Gauge Display # EP84030 which connects to your OBD-II port and gives you read outs of many parameters and even has a Mileage Coach which helps you improve your miles per gallon.
