Today we're going to review part number AUT2-FOR-C. This is the Automotive Gold Stainless Steel Ford Trailer Hitch Cover for 1 1/4" hitches and the chrome and blue finish. Now the hitch covers do look cool but they do more than just accessorize your vehicle. This Ford hitch cover will help keep dirt out of your receiver and prevent rust so that you can easily install ball mounts, other hitch accessories when you need them. As you can see, it uses the officially licensed Ford oval logo on it. It does have a chrome plating around the logo which adds style and shine. It has a UV resistant blue painted background and an ABS plastic face plate which is corrosion proof.
That logo is all attached to this polished stainless steel base right here which gives a mirror like shine and resists rust and corrosion and if you notice on the back, the shank portion, it's a one piece riveted construction. There's no assembly required when you receive this. You'll get it just like this, ready to install. If you notice it has multiple hitch pin holes drilled here on the side to accommodate different hitch receivers. It does require a hitch pin and clip or hitch lock to hold it in to the receiver. You can use the one you already have.

This part is made in the USA and, again, the application is for 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" trailer hitch receivers. One wonders why all covers made for 1 1/4" with and adapter for 2" so there would be no need for 2 sizes. I attached it to my E Trailer hitch on my Corvette. Yes a tow hitch on a Corvette for bike rack.
This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.

I had a cheap rubber cover but it either blew off in the wash or got stolen. With a locking pin this one should stay put. Makes a nice little enhancement to my vehicle and shows pride in having served our country. Glad it arrived in time for display this "Veterans Day".
The chrome cover looks great and was easy to install. We wanted to replace the rubber OEM factory hitch cover with something more stylish. This purchase exceed expectations!

Excellent quality. Looks like new one-year later. Highly recommended. You can see in photo the mirror like shine as it reflects the concrete below and the grass beside my driveway. Looks cool.
