Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Added to use with a front winch. The install was not too difficult and the included instructions were spot-on. On my F250, the front tow hooks add to the strength of holding the hitch to the frame. On the F250 you do lose the OEM fog light location, but I used the wiring to add/relocate after-market fog lights. The set up has already proven helpful, pulling me out of a snow back while plowing. Just what I needed for some summer off road camping as well.

This is just what I needed for off-road driving. I use it with a removable winch and it also help me pull someone out of a snowbank this past winter.

Great product! Fit perfectly on my 2005 F350. Instructions were easy to follow and it's possible to do it singlehandedly. Thanks trailer!

2003 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

I chose this product because it was among the more inexpensive front hitches I could find. I plan to build a t-bar for it and use it in conjunction with a homemade headache rack to carry 16 foot garage doors. Like other reviews and vids I have found, the bolt up is hard. I reversed the bolts and use the new ones on the outside, as well as removing my grill. My truck is a 2003 - so not much room like the 2008 and newer trucks.

product works fine no issues

by:

Awesome front hitch. Looks pretty solid. Can’t wait till I have to winch my truck out with it

by:
2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty

1. Not sure why the box needs to be so big for this hitch? This hitch is long and narrow, but the box looks like it’s for a 55-inch TV! What a waste. There is so much room in the box, the hitch was not secured, broke loose and penetrated the box. The hitch had some minor damage. Not worth to return it.
2. I read reviews from other web sites that this hitch and or the truck may need to be modified to get the hitch to fit. This is true for me. I had to cut and file notches on the driver’s side frame bumper plate to get the new hitch bolts to line up.
3. Overall, if it wasn’t for the modification, it would have been an easy install.

by:

Item shipped in timely manner and in great shape. Directions were straight for word and understandable. Two bolts were hard to access behind bumper. Viedo was a great help and very useful in install of hitch. Service was great and price was right. Was very pleased with my purchase and installation. Will be used for portable winch on front of truck.

Pontiac Trans Sport Van

Perfect fit, don't even notice it is there. You do have to relocate your front plate if required to have one in your state. I use mine to transport (or just play music from the front) cargo carrier mounted speakers and sub. I also have a hitch mounted Superwinch and the front hitch allows me to recover from the front and rear of the truck.

by:

awesome fit ! Installed with ease ! will come in handy when launching boat with camper on. Highly recomend this place for all your towing needs amonst other items . Thanks Guys job well done !!!

by:

First time I used it, my F-250 was knee-high mud, the Draw Tite held together and with the winch pulled me out, so I need another one for my F-150. 110% Satisfied, highly recommend it.

by:
2004 Ford Excursion

I have not installed the hitches on my truck but they look to be well made and will replace the OEM hitch just fine assuming it fits.

I did lower the rating because of the shipping. BOTH hitches came by LTL UPS Freight and BOTH hitches were delivered out of their boxes. The had ripped through the side or end of cardboard box. UPS carried the hitches up to the garage and then placed the boxes over them. I am hopefully that all the hardware and instructions were delivered.

After I get them installed in a couple weeks we'll see how the rest of the story goes.

by:
2000 Ford Excursion

Top quality and solid. Unfortunately, I did have to remove my stock fog lights, which is a real bummer, but I really needed a hitch up front to carry bicycles. READ the directions on this one the order is important.

by:
2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Having read reviews about the packaging not being good ,I was really surprise just how well it was packed in a heavy duty cardboard box and I mean heavy duty! very pleased with that quality of the hitch cannot fault it ,where I had the biggest problem was drilling the 5/8 holes took a bit of time ,and of course the time spent trying to get the bolts lined up once the bumper was in stalled very tricky indeed ,where I think I had a strke of genius was to use alien tape to hole the plates behind the bumper but you really have to clean the area to stick too ,apart from that ,very pleased with the unit and the way it looks, its really well made

by:

Just what I needed. I have a 5th wheel with no good way to put a hitch on. I bought the front receiver to haul my bicycles in front of the truck. Works very well, Was a little bit of work getting in on the truck but fit well. With a receiver on front and rear of my truck I can use a winch on either end if needed. I would recommend for anyone with some basic skills. Some drilling required and maybe 2 sets of hands. Have used it many times and am very happy with it.

by:

Great quality. A little time consuming to install but worth it.

by:

Installed on a 2001 Ford F-250. Relatively easy installation. It took about 8 hours to complete. The only ‘mistake’ I made was tightening down the receiver before reinstalling the tow rings. The lower edge of the receiver hitch will prevent access to the forward bolts of the tow rings. I was able to loosen the hitch enough to tighten the rings down. The hitch fits perfectly, and no new holes were needed. My only complaint is packaging of the hardware—some of it was loose in the box and I managed to lose a washer. Other than that, I’m am very happy!

by:

Perfect fit and look on my 2000 Ford F350 4x4 Crew Cab. Great price, fast shipping and excellent customer service. Not noticeable from the front unless you put in a receiver plug like my NRA plug. Just make sure you watch the install video on YouTube and you have the proper tools... LOL.

by:
2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Overall item seems built well, but packaging was destroyed and unit came dented and scratched. UPS driver said parts were falling out of box.. poor packaging caused a scratched and dented delivered product.

Oh no! I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Good products. Hitch hides well when not in use. When I have my camper on back I can take my dirt bike on the front. Installation as shown on the videos. etrailer was easy to use and fast shipping. I will use them again and recommend them to anyone.

by:

It is big and hard and the chicks dig it. Thanks trainer

by:

Only thing I could say negatively is that I have to remove my front license plate to use the receiver. Not sure how to remedy that as in California, front license plates are mandatory.
Installation took some modification but with the help of another person, it went well.

by:
2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Delivered on time and all parts were accounted for even though the boxes were destroyed from shipping.
This unit, along with the item MX600 installed very easily and quick. I'm just bummed I have to refit or replace my OEM fog lights.

Overall I will get many miles of use from this hauling my Honda 230, now I can keep my T/T hooked up and still access the bike.

2001 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Great price, and a great product.
I
plan on using it to carry a bike rack.

If you have a Powerstroke, save yourself a couple of hours of work and remove the front cross member, or recruit somebody with really thin forearms and hands to help get the two inside bolts tight.

by:
2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Shipping was extremely fast and the product is very well made.

by:
2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

The product was great and the service and delivery are excellent. The only slight problem was in the video where they made the process of attaching the receiver sound easier than it was. My brother helped me and we have all the tools needed and are good at that kinda of stuff. But some of the procedures were difficult.

by:

Not super straightforward installation and I haven’t used it yet for the intended purpose but I think I is a very beefy and well placed accessory. I think I love it!

  • Comparing the Curt Front Hitch 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65022 for a 2000 Ford F-250
There are virtually no structural differences between the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65022 for your 2000 Ford F-250. They both install in the exact same location and allot for a 500/5,000 Lb vertical load and line pull rating. The main reason for the price difference is that the Curt hitch is made in the USA and has a more resistant powder coating. I have attached a sample install video for you as well.
