Speaker 1: Today we're taking our look at a 12 LED strobe light. This rectangular amber LED strobe light has 12 LEDs and 12 flash patterns with alternating and synchronized functions. The amber strobe light is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. This light ultimately helps keep you visible. It's great for work trucks and trailers. Now again, it is LED.
LED's make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, they're more efficient. With LED's you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. This light has a really nice black base, that's a black plastic base, with the clear lensing and amber LED's. It has the rubber mounting pad, and it comes with your installation screws. Now it is a four wire design, so you have your red wire, and you have your black wire.
Red is for power, black is for ground. Then you have white and blue. In the instructions, it does a great job at indicating the wire function, so again, red, positive, power. Black, ground. Now for the blue wire, it says, "connecting the blue wires will synchronize all light heads.
Touching positive power to the blue wire will change the flash pattern. Please note that all light heads to be grouped must first be set at the same pattern before linked together." Then for the white wires, it says, "All units with white and red wires connected will flash together, that's group one. All units with white and red wires not connected will flash together, group two." So by grouping the lights as above or as indicated either simultaneous or alternating groups can be achieved. So, you have your wiring diagram in the included instructions, it does a great job at laying out what each wire does, what the function is. I also want to point out that again, we have the pre drilled mount holes back here. These holes right here are separated on center by one and one sixteenth of an inch, and they go in this direction, the mount holes are separated on center by three and three eighths inches.
The actual measurements of the light edge to edge, it's about five and a half by two and a quarter. Then the overall measurements, so that would be with it on the rubber pad, I took a measurement from outer edge to outer edge going this direction, and got a measurement of about five and eleven sixteenths inches by two and a half inches. Now, the overall thickness, or the overall depth of the unit is how far it sticks out from the installation surface, is about one to one and one eighth inches, right in that area. We're going to go and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Then we'll cycle through the flash patterns that it has to offer. We'll just do some of those so you can get a good idea. Turn off the overhead lights. Now, when it comes to the diodes or LED's, there's 12 of them, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output.Again, to change the flash pattern, take the blue wire and we just touch it to power. It could also be installed to a switch. So every time I touch the blue wire to power it changes the flash pattern. Now the wattage for this unit is 1.3 watts. Voltage, 12-24 volts. The amperage is one amp at 12 volts. I'll go ahead and cycle through a few more. So a lot of different flash patterns to choose from, and the instructions do a great job at walking you through that whole process as well. That's going to do it for today's look at the 12 LED strobe light.
