Excellent Product has proved reliable for me, have recommended to other race car friends. Love both the wire control and the small hand held remote transmitter.

Great piece of equipment. Will have local company install on the flat-bed utility trailer which is used to transport riding mowers and an occasional golf cart to shops. Will need to purchase battery and waterproof enclosure.

A good winch not real heavy and can handle it quit easy

A much better winch than I had ,does not slow down although I'm only pulling about 250lbs. Up a 7 ft ramp. Does not get jammed either, I reccomend it.

Used it mostly dragging logs around my property and one time to rescue a complete stranger who managed to run off the trail at the only place where it's not a good idea to leave the trail. No surprise, complete strangers have typically gotten more use out of my winches than i have. Very pleased so far.
Mounted 7800 pound trailer winch on my old jeep, wanted a narrow package that fit between the arms of the tow bar. Both winches drag both jeeps around marvelously!

  • Run Time, Cool Off Time, And Line Pull Rate Of Bulldog Utility Winch BD54FR
I talked to my contact at Bulldog to get some information for you. The Bulldog Utility Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 2,500 lbs # BD54FR comes with a 50' rope which is 3/16" in diameter. There is not an exact answer when it comes to run time and cool off time since there are so many variables, however, Bulldog states that it is a good idea to run the winch for 3-5 minutes and allow for about 20-30 minutes to cool down. A good rule of thumb is to stop if the winch feels hot, and continue...

  • Does Superwinch LT2000 ATV Winch Come with Switch to Power Line In and Out
The Superwinch LT2000 ATV Winch # 1120210 does come with a switch that allows you to power the line in or out. It looks more like a rocker switch and will be permanently installed (see attached photo). If you were thinking of something more like a handheld remote then I recommend checking out the Bulldog Utility Winch # BD54FR which has a port that you plug the handheld up to when you need to use it.

  • What is the Unloaded Line Pull Rate for the Bulldog 2500 Utility Winch
The unloaded line pull rate of the Bulldog Utility Winch # BD54FR is 16.4 feet per minute. This is the perfect light-duty winch to let you pull ATVs, UTVs, golf carts, and other small vehicles onto your trailer.

  • Correct Winch Mounting Plate for Class I Hitch
Yes, the Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate Item # BDW20011 can also be used on the hitch on the back of your SUV. The issue here is that you have a Class I trailer hitch and the Draw-Tite Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011 fits into 2" hitch receivers. A better fit for you will be the Bulldog Winch ATV Winch Mounting Plate for 1-1/4" Hitches # BDW20316. This will fit into your 1-1/4" Class I hitch and is compatible with Bulldog Winches like the Bulldog Utility Winch # BD54FR.

  • Quiet Electric Winch Options
The Bulldog Utility Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 2,500 lbs # BD54FR, like any other winch with wire rope, will be somewhat noisy. You may be able to install your own rope in the Bulldog winch to make it somewhat quiet, but the motor will still make some noise. A better option may be the Bulldog Winch Powersports Series ATV Winch - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead - 2,000 lbs # BDW15010 which has the quiet synthetic rope. You can add wireless remote # BDW20099 to this winch. Keep...

  • Line Speed of Bulldog Utility Winch BD54FR
Winch gear ratios aren't normally given for electric winches since they do not have a handle that gets cranked by hand which is what the ratio is factored with. So the best info I can give you on the Bulldog Winch part # BD54FR is the line speed when it has no load and line speed with its full load. When there is not load the line moves at 16.4 feet per minute and draws 30 amps and then at a full load of 2,500 lbs it moves at 4.2 feet per minute and draws 200 amps.

  • Does the 2.5K Bulldog Utility Winch Come Without a Manual Clutch Lever
The Bulldog Utility Winch part # BD54FR come equipped with a manual clutch lever that will be used to put the winch in free-spool mode so you can let line out faster by hand and not wear out the motor. It's not offered without this manual clutch lever but you don't have to use it so I'm not sure why you want one without it. That said, if you can let me know why I may have another option for you. I have attached for you below a list of our electric winch selection but all of the ones I...

  • Can I Use A Bulldog Utility Winch To Load Deer Into The Bed Of An UTV

  • Can 2.5K Bulldog Utility Winch be Exposed to the Elements
The Bulldog Utility Winch # BD54FR doesn't have a rating for the sealing but it is designed to be installed on the exterior of a truck or trailer setup and will do a great job at withstanding the elements. This does have the standard compliance with CE Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and CE Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC.

  • How Can I Use the Bulldog Winch # BD54FR with a 110v Outlet?
While all of our available winches run off 12v or 120v power sources, the best route to power your winch is by using a converter. We unfortunately do not have a simple wiring setup that can achieve this conversion. With that being said, if you are set on the Bulldog Utility Winch # BD54FR, the best option is to use the Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger - 12V - 60 Amps # PD9160A. With the Inteli-Power, you can plug in this converter to a 110v AC outlet...

  • What Winch do You Recommend for Pulling a 3,500 Pound Car on a Trailer?
I have a great winch solution for you. Unfortunately, the Bulldog Utility Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead # BD54FR is only rated to pull up to 2,500 pounds. With that being said, I recommend the Superwinch Winch 2 Go Portable Winch - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead # SW1140232. Not only does the Winch 2 Go provide you with 4,000 pounds of line pull strength, it also comes with straps, blocks, shackles to make your pulling headache-free. I went ahead and attached an image of a neighbor...

  • Can Bulldog Utility Winch BD54FR Mount to Truck Bed
The Bulldog Utility Winch - Wire Rope - Roller Fairlead - 2,500 lbs # BD54FR is not designed to fit directly into a truck bed; it may be possible though you will need to fabricate your own mounting system to bolt the winch on, as it has hole spacing of 3.66 inches apart on center, as you can see by the cutout I added. In regards to the cord, that is for the remote control, and that plugs directly into the winch itself. The winch is designed to be powered by a 12 volt battery. I have...
