Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove some interior paneling to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed within your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

I have had the trailer hitch from Curt and the recommended wiring kit for about a year. I just completed a transcontinental trip from South Carolina to California with zero issues. Rain, heat, high wind - all taken in stride with no problems. Highly recommended!

My family is very happy we discovered this company. We ordered a trailer hitch for our Mazda 6 and all the necessary wiring connectors. It was installed by a trailer company in 25 minutes. We can now pull our POP-UP camping trailer. Service with etrailer was phenomenal,easy to order & fast. We are very happy.
Well, my 14 year old son and I got the cable all wired up, picked up the new trailer and 'fingers crossed', the lights worked.
This harness requires you to wire to the battery but would be much better to not have to wire to the battery. Seen other harnesses for other cars that did not need this. Also, I called e-trailer and talked with a very nice person who confirmed I could not avoid the wire to the battery. If we did not do that it was a 15 minute job. However, underneath the car it was a little difficult, manageable but not easy. There is a lot of plastic covers and trying to find a clear path to secure the wire was not obvious and I hope I did it Ok.
In short, the harness was works well and except for the battery run it is all plug and play. Took about 75 minutes. installing the hitch only took us about 25 minutes with my son doing most of the work. All in. Very happy. E-trailer shipped quickly and the videos on the site are very helpful.
The hitch was easy to install. Those bolt leader "fish-wires" are a great invention! etrailer does a nice job with help like videos for us shade-tree mechanics :-)
The wiring harness, while a bit pricey is worth the money. Consider that you need a 3 filament to 2 filament converter if your car has yellow turn signals, the price is not that bad.
The lady (Jean?) that I talked to after hours was very nice and helpful. Shipping was quick. Another etrailer satisfied customer.
The first thing I noticed was the heavy duty construction of the trailer hitch. It looked over built for my application. It was a breeze to install with all the necessary hardware included. The hitch tucks in nicely and does not take away from the appearance of my car. Overall I am very happy with this product.
This product fit my 2014 Mazda 6 without any issues. Running the wire up to the battery under the car was a challenge and took longer than other vehicles I've installed these harnesses on due to all of the plastic covers underneath but I got it done.
very easy to install, the cars have a plug in the back that allows the wiring that is already there to connect to the new connector.
The wiring harness fit perfectly. The written installation instructions were not very helpful, however.
The shipping box arrived damaged with the hitch partially sitting outside the side of the box. Thankfully the hitch was not damaged. I have not installed it on the car yet so Iam not able to speak to the fit or ease of installation but I plan to in the next week or 2. The powder coat is chipped in a few spots though. I'll report back again when I have it installed.

I’d say the install was easier that stated. Everything needed is shipped to you and the instructions are clear and easy to understand. The hitch itself is stout and well built.

It installed pretty painlessly. Hardest part was zip-tieing it in place.
