Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath the truck bed, near the driver's-side frame rail.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Trailer hitch fit great on truck. Directions that came with it worked well. Took about 45 minutes to install the hitch and wire harness by myself on my 2012 Chevy Colorado.

Tekonsha towing "Plug in T" wiring harness for a 2007 Chevy Colorado....The product was excellent, just as described. It literally did, in fact, install in about 5-10 minutes. Your website was extremely helpful regarding the product. The installment videos are what sold me. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was the 7 day delivery. The wiring still works flawlessly. Ill be buying both a hitch and wiring set from etrailer this spring for my subaru crosstrek
I wasted two days and was at my wits end trying to figure why the Dealer installed wire harness did not work, after spending Two minutes on your web site and watched your videos problem was solved, the dealer installed the wrong harness, I ordered this harness and you shipped it the next morning.

Working out great after more than a year
The part fit as it should. And was delivered a day early. I am also currently waiting for another package from e trailers
The trailer light harness fit perfectly and plugged right in, and had all my utility trailer lights working properly.

No shorts, no breakage, continued good connection. An occasional squirt of WD-40 is a good idea.
Durable, well-built product at a reasonable price. Very nice hitch and wiring harness.

Product was an easy plug and play and just like new after one of use.
It was great! After a year of frequent use taking on a salt water the wiring harness works great!! As a former Electronics Technician my only recommendation would be to highlight the importance of a good ground connection. Because many trailers are typically constructed of solid metal this is not a problem. But where modifications are made using wood and other non-ferrous metals a bad ground will interrupt the system.

Product came on time and in good condition. Installation is easy for DIY and I had no problem. I own a 2009 Chevy colorado and the unit works perfectly. I rented a trailer from home Depot and the tail lights worked as designed. I got this unit because I didn't want to do any wire splicing or soldering. I only used a drill for a screw to attach the unit to the truck frame with also some RTV and a few zip ties. I would buy again if need be.
I'm not certain how easy pie is (I'm to busy making my truck cooler, but this must be as easy or easier.
You'll lay down behind your truck, and you'll luck at the back of the rear bumper. There you will see a big flat pin connector and you'll unclip it and then using strategic reasoning skills you'll plug the correct end of the new fancy deal from etrailer into those two spots you just created.
Then you'll just need to get a self tapping screw and mount the ground to something metal, preferably not the color of the truck (that's the bed, don't screw it into that).
Then you're freaking done and you can tow stuff legally!
The product was exactly as pictured. It installed very easily in approximately five minutes. More time passed waiting for my cordless drill to charge than the actual installation. The self tapping screw for the ground wire was great. The installation literally was unhooking the existing wire connectors, putting the T connector between them, and then running the wire towards the ball hitch.
I have yet to hook anything to the connector at this time to enure all is functioning correctly though will tow a trailer in another week to test it.
I recently purchased a Hidden hitch and wiring harness for my 2011 Chevy Colorado. With the install videos online, installation couldn't have been more straight forward. Shipping was fast and pricing was very good! I highly recommend etrailer!
I had a dead short in the wiring. I would turn on my headlights and the trailer lights quit working. I pulled this out of the box it looked a little different. I then went out to the truck unplugged the original from the truck and plugged this in. It worked prefect.
Product that I ordered was not in stock and they informed me of an item equal to what I order and gave me the option to cancel first order and order the in stock item. This was all done within the first couple days of placing original order.
I have to say that is EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and I am very satisfied with the replacement item that was as they described. I ordered a quick connect trailer harness for my Chevy Colorado and the instruction said it would take roughly 1/2 hour to install, (FALSE after watching etrailer install video it only took 10 minutes including reading the instructions, Another fine example of good customer service)
Very pleased and will recommend etrailer to anyone needing their products.

works great for my 06 colorado! simple plug and play. FYI does not have a fuse. if you have a trailer short it will just fry the unit. make sure your pluging into good trailers. i fried one because the running lights had a direct short to ground.
