It sounds like you're trying to add a 7-way trailer connector on your 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. We certainly have the parts you need but depending on what you have as to which route you need to go.
If your truck has the tow package and is equipped with a standard round connector to plug trailer wiring into you can use part # 74682 which includes a 7-way, 4-way, and a mounting bracket. This gives you the fully functioning 7-way and 4-way.
If your truck isn't equipped with the standard connector then the easier way to add a 7-way is to first add a 4-way and then convert it to a 7-way. Use part # 118301 to add the 4-way. It plugs in to a connector at the rear of the truck near the driver's side frame rail. Then use our # ETBC7 kit to convert it to a 7-way. This will also give you a fully functioning 4-way and 7-way.
I've also linked some install videos of each product for you to check out.
