GMC Acadia

I ordered this when none of the lights would work on all three trailers I owned. After replacing the fuse and checking everything else it came down to this. It was a perfect fit and super easy to install. The wiring harness for my acadia is a plug and play so no splicing or sodering. I would highly recommend this product.

2018 Dodge Ram Pickup

The 7-Way RV Style Trailer Connector for Factory Tow Package shipped quickly and fit perfectly in my RAM 2500 diesel bed. It was difficult to install only because the hole in the bed wall was rather tight so I had a difficult time pulling the cable into the bed to plug the replacement part in (no fault of the part). The Etrailer-provided part seems to be made of a much better/durable plastic than the one that needed replaced. The part that it replaced was cracked/broken in 2 places around the border including at one of the mount screws due to hard/brittle plastic. All the electrical connections work perfectly. Only improvement I would recommend is send replacement screws with the part--Luckily the screws were still in place, even at the one mounting hole that was broken. I was unable to find the correct replacement part at several other online sites. The brief instructional video on ETrailer.com was also very helpful.

Drop in replacement on my Ford F-150 for my damaged 7-way (also purchased from etrailer). The 15 minute installation was a breeze. Great support from this company as well! Thanks.

Easy to do business

by:

This worked awesome, I purchased the three way truck bed harness for my gooseneck and replaced the rear main
7 way at the same time.
E trailer shipped it quickly and there website pictures and instructions where great for the installation.

by:

Fits if you want a gap in the factory bumper. Does not fit like factory connector.

I was so dissatisfied with customer service I kept the plug, and will not order from Etrailer again.

by:

I had to put in my information on my truck and the plug I received was not the factory one. Had to drill holes instead of just the twist out plug that comes in a Silverado

Thank you for sharing. I researched 7 way connectors for a 2004 Chevy and found that part # PK11916 is a better option for a twist in plug replacement. It will fit with 2007 - 2013 ChevroletGMC 1500 trucks and 2007 - 2014 ChevroletGMC 25003500 trucks.

I have to say that I've used Etrailer for all my trailer needs and have been so overwhelmed at the price and the product .. I'll never shop any other place .. why .. no one has ever come close to the savings I found here .. I bought my heavy hitch from here and couldn't be happier and this item was the perfect match to what I needed .. Thanks Etrailer !

by:

I received the wrong part based on your recommendation. Here’s my exchange with your customer service rep :
Good Morning,

Thank you for clarifying.

Based on the item you want to return from your order, the return cost is greater than the part. Therefore, it would not be cost effective to return these items. I recommend selling locally to make your money back.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Thank you,

Tiffany H.

Well, Tiffany, this is a good lesson for me. I buy a part from your company solely based on the recommendation of your representative. It arrives and it’s the wrong part. And I have no recourse. Not even an offer for a credit nor an offer to send the correct part. A complete waste of my time and money. Didn’t even receive an apology. Caveat emptor. Well, the lesson is learned. I will never do business with etrailer again. I will never recommend etrailer to my friends. And I will take every opportunity to disparage your company.

Works fine. However I had to drill holes for screws to hold the connector in place. The original was just twisted in place.

No problems. Working as good as the original

by:

Just the right configuration I needed. Works for all the vehicles that I tow. Good construction.

by:

Product worked well and we actually mounted not in the provided location in hitch but we but the housing wheeler you can mount it on the top of the hitch. This product has been working well for us and recommend to all. It worked well in our 2915 Pathfinder

by:

Fit perfectly into place on my fifth wheel 7-way extension into the bed of my truck. The previous bracket broke and the trailer brakes quit making contact. This was the same as the broken one, and fit up perfectly and all contacts are working. I gave it a rating of four because the previous one (which was the same) broke after about 3 years of use.

by:
2014 Chevrolet Silverado

Wiring portion is direct fit to 14 Silverado. Since i replaced factory plug had to drill new holes and filled original hole with cut to fit scrap plastic.

by:

Wow great job to all, what service and the hitch, the plug for the lights, and the license plate holder, is all you said, and it took less than 15 min to install everything. What your company is doing right now, document , train and continue to do it, you have made this customer very happy and we will do business again! Sorry no pics because its hiding behind the roll pan just like you said it would!

Thanks

2015 Chevrolet Silverado

Perfect match plug and play for a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD Duramax. 10 minute install. It would have been 5 stars if it were more of a snug fit into your receptacle. I would recommend.

  • Will Mighty Cord 7-Way Connector # A10-7072VP Fit 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee W/ Factory Tow Package?
Since your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the factory tow package and a 7-way connector you can absolutely use the Mighty Cord Replacement 7-Way RV Style Trailer Connector for Factory Tow Package # A10-7072VP as a replacement. The factory wiring connector will plug into the back of the connector, and then the front side with the cover is where the 7-way trailer connector will plug in to. I included a video of the # A10-7072VP for you to take a look at.

The Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM40950 holes may line up with the bracket on your 2004 Chevy Tahoe if it's a Z71. According to Hopkins this connector only fits a 2004 Chevy Tahoe if it's a Z71. The mounting holes are 2.15" apart horizontally and 1.40" apart vertically so that you can compare to your mounting bracket. If you do not have a Z71, I recommend to use the Mighty Cord Replacement 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector for Factory Tow...

  • Hitch and Wiring For 2017 Chevy Express Van Cab and Chassis Cutaway
I recommend the Buyers Products hitch part # 3371801102 which is the only fit the cab and chassis Chevy Express van. This will give you a 2" hitch on the van with a 12000 lb towing capacity. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15320 is a fit for the passenger van. For the wiring, you'll need part # A10-7072VP if the Chevy Express has a factory tow package. If it doesn't have a factory tow package, you'll need part # 118392 which is a 4-pole flat. If you need a 7-way you'll have to...

I believe the 2017 Suburban came with a twist-in 7-way connector like part # PK11916. If it did use a twist-in connector, there will be a locking tab just to the left of the connector as shown in the provided photo. Push in on the tab with a small screwdriver, and the connector will pull free once it's unplugged at the rear. If it doesn't use a twist-in connector, use # A10-7072VP. For a tow vehicle that has a 7-way blade-style trailer connector like # A10-7072VP and a trailer that has a 6-way connector such as # PK11604, you could absolutely use an adapter like the # 47549 you'd looked at. This is a universal adapter, which is handy because there are two accepted ways to wire a 6-way trailer connector. • Troubleshooting Stop Turn Circuit of 2014 GMC Yukon XL Trailer Wiring Not Functioning
First thing I'd check is for a blown fuse under you hood. That's the most common issue that kills a trailer wiring circuit and is very easy to fix. Next possibility is corrosion on the pins of the trailer wiring. To fix that take some sandpaper to all of the pins on your 7-way. If the 7-way is looking pretty rough it might be best to replace it with a new one like the # A10-7072VP and you'd have an all new connector. Aside from that you'd have to trace wires to see where the issue might...

The ground circuit is in the position opposite of this in the 7:00 position. My guess is there was exposed wire on the trailer side between these two circuits and they touched which caused the problem. • Troubleshooting Brake Controller and Poor Braking on Trailer Towed by 2018 Toyota Tundra
The three main things that could be causing your issue are: 1) Insufficient brake adjustment. The adjusters should be turned 'out' until you can't turn the wheel by hand when it's jacked up off the ground. Then the adjusters should be backed off by 10 or so clicks so there's still a slight drag from the brake shoes. 2) The brake shoes should be broken in correctly or 'burnished'. This is done by applying the brakes 20 to 30 times to decrease the speed by 20 mph. Example, once reaching...
