Today we'll be taking a look at the Roof Mounted SportRack Cargo Basket part number SR9030. This basket is perfect for wagons, mid-sized cars and SUVs. The the roof mounted cargo basket holds all your gear safely and securely. This basket attaches to your roof rack crossbars with universal mounting hardware and includes a fairing to reduce wind drag. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to install the cargo basket. Once we have it inline with the center of our vehicle we'll begin installing our mounting hardware.
With the saddled all ready in our basket we'll take our U bolt, bring it around the underside of our load bar, fit it in the back up through our bar saddle and then we'll slip the clamp plate over the threaded end of the U bolt. Please keep in mind that the clamp plate must rest on top of the basket rail then we'll tighten with a two threaded knobs. Once we have this done we'll move to the other 3 clamps and repeat this process. The U bolts, the bar saddles and the threaded hand knobs allow for an easy installation and removal. It's made out of a welded steel construction and the included custom fairing helps to reduce wind noise and drag, it also helps improve your gas mileage. The universal mounting hardware fits round crossbars, Thule Square Load Bars, Thule Aeroblade Bars and Thule Factory RoofRacks.
There is a basket extension available with part number sr9031 and a SafariCargo Net part number sr0033 that are sold separately. We'll go ahead and load our cargo basket with some gear and tight it down with the Thule Load Straps with the padded cam buckles. The strap is a nine feet long strap and it comes with a pack of two that's sold separately with part number Th521. This roof rack has a weight capacity of 110 pounds and it comes with a 3 year limited warranty.With everything loaded up and secured we'll go ahead and take it out for a test drive and show you what it looks like going down the road. Works well. Only issue are the clips. Ive broken two of them attempting to attatch to the cargo basket.
The hooks are not large enough to hook onto the rails of the Thule basket I have.

I do have two cargo nets that will work, part # TH692 and part # C18201. Both have hooks that are large enough to work on the basket rails.
