Video Transcript for Review of Griots Garage Car Cleaner - Buffers and Pads - GG94FR

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Griot's Garage G8 mini random orbital polisher. Now this mini orbital will let you polish and buff your small areas and tightly contoured body panels on your vehicle. It is a nice dual-action rotation, thoroughly applies solution your vehicle's surface. It does use a buffing pad, which we do sell separate on our website, that attaches to this backing plate, which will spin independently on the spindle.

It does give you an elliptical orbit of the backing plate to spread the solution over a wide surface area. The spindle orbit radius is about eight millimeters or five sixteenths of an inch. Now, at the end of this video, I am going to hook this up to some power just to show you how that operates. Now, this random orbital head is safer. It's easier to use than a rotary or high-speed buffer. It'll generate less friction on application area, which in turn will not damage your paint job.

This orbital can be used on flat or gently curved surfaces. It does have a six speed power dial right here, that'll let you customize your buffing speed for stronger or gentler application. You can treat deep defects or minor surface streaks, depending on your chosen speed. The orbital speed ranges from 2,000 to 6,400 orbits per minute. The trigger is a fully variable speed trigger throttle.

If you wanted, you can push it in and push that button and a lock it on, keep it running. It does use over here, a fan cooled counterbalance, which will extend the tool, the backing plate, and the pad life.It does come with everything shown here. Comes with this 14 millimeter backing plate wrench that you can remove the backing plate and replace it with the other one. It comes with some replacement high carbon brushes, and it comes with a two inch. The one on it is a three inch diameter backing plate.

You can change it to a two inch if you prefer. Power cord length is 10 feet and it just plugs in. You line up the correct. You can hear it click and lock into place, so it won't unplug when you're operating it.Motor power output is 700 Watts, 6 amps. Weight of this is only about five and three quarters pound. What I'm going to do now, and again, we mentioned it comes with a nice storage bag so you can put your extra brushes in there, backing plate, wrench, extra backing plate, and then zip it closed. Comes with the paint assessment guide, which helps you can see it gives you all the details on what your paint looks like, different products to use, how to use them. Again, let me unwrap this cord, go ahead and plug it in. Once I got it plugged in, be able to show you. I'll put it on the lowest speed, which is one. You'll be able to see, there's your orbital. I slow it down a little bit, you'll be able to see how it rotates.Again, if you want to hold that trigger to a certain speed, you can just. If we go up to the higher speed, as you turn that dial. If you wanted to lock it into place, you just push in on that button, just to show you that again. Push in on that button. That should do it for the review on this Griot's Garage G8 mini random orbital polisher.
