Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Demco 32-degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler. The A-frame coupler is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It's going to provide the connection point right here for your trailer hitch ball. It's going to use an easy latch mechanism. What that does is that's going to ensure simple secure hookup and disconnect. It's going to let you actually hook up to the hitch ball with the latch in the closed position.

That's one of the things that makes this coupler unique from the others is that all you have to do is drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will automatically snap into place. That latch mechanism is going to be constructed of a corrosion-proof polymer nylon resin composite. It's a nice strong durable design. It's impact resistant. It's got a nice sleek low-profile design. That's going to allow for hazards to simply slide over the top of the coupler preventing damage to the latch components. The unit is made from a heavy-duty steel construction.

It's going to have a good-looking silver powder-coat finish on it. It's going to offer excellent rust and corrosion resistance. This one does feature a 500-hour salt-spray rating, which makes it great for marine applications, and right here, it's going to have the built in jack attachment point. It's going to allow for quick easy mounting of a round utility jack. This is designed as a weld on installation. It is SAE J684 certified.

Again, it is designed for 32-degree A-frame trailers. It's going to fit a 2-5/16" hitch ball. It's going to offer a weight capacity of 21,000 pounds. There's a few measurements I want to go over with you real quick. The diameter of the jack hole back here, that's going to measure from edge to edge .. that's going to measure about 2-3/8".

That's going to work great for your 2-1/4" outer tube diameter jack. Then these holes, they're going to be spaced apart from one another on center by right on 3". That's going to be the same between each one. These holes are going to offer a diameter of 1/2". To detach the unit from your hitch ball, all you've got to do lift up on that latch. I'll show you that latching component right there. You would place this over your 2-5/16" hitch ball. It would automatically engage, and then to release, you just lift up that latch that lifts up the mechanism and that would release the hitch ball. This is lockable. Its got a small hole right here that's going to measure 5/16". That's going to be the same on each side. That's going to allow you to pass through a coupler pin or a coupler pin and lock so you can secure the unit and lock it onto the hitch ball or you can lock your unattended trailer so nobody else can connect to their hitch ball. A measurement we need to go over real quick with that is, you need to make sure that you're going to get the correct pin length. What we can do is we can just take a measurement of this area right here. From edge to edge, you can see that that's going to measure pretty close to 2-3/4". I would recommend a coupler pin with a usable pin length or a span of at least 2-7/8". That would work really well for this coupler. When it comes to the overall measurements, if we take a look at the overall length measuring from edge to edge, very back to very front, that's going to give us a measurement of about 19-1/4" long. Here at the back, if we take a measurement of the width, again it's designed for 32-degree A-frame trailers. That internal part is going to measure about 9-7/16" wide.
