Today we're gonna take a look at the Titan Weld-on Adjustable Channel Brake Actuator for Drum Brakes. Has a 20000 pound weight capacity. Now this adjustable channel surge type actuator will weld onto your trailer tongue and it let's you mount the included clevis here in two different positions to match your application.This is a hydraulic actuator that'll synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. Basically, what happens is when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs, and the momentum will push your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. So with the surge brake system like this, this actuator's triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows, the actuator will telescope back, applying force to the master cylinder in the back here, which in turn supplies the hydraulic pressure to engage your trailer brakes.Now this one is a unique roller design. I can move this to show you.

Right up here there's two rollers with grease zerk 00:00:51 fittings on the end, and then two right down here. And those grease zerk fittings are nice 'cause you can attach a grease gun to it and lubricate the rollers. This unique roller design helps reduce the resistance during the telescoping to help create straight-line movement.It's very sturdy, durable steel construction, this will help resist bending in any jackknife situations. The channel right here is an adjustable channel. Has two different mounting positions for this clevis that's included.The forward mounting holes right here, if we measure the distance from center to center, there on two inches apart.

Overall height of the hole channel is gonna be right at seven and a half inches tall.And again, the included clevis right here that's included, with the hardware, you can see you can just take . if we put it on the top one, just run your bolt through. And run your other bolt through on the bottom one. And then take your nuts, and just put them on the other side, and tighten it all the way down.

And then if you need to move it to the lower position, it'll drop it for you to the lower position if you need it.Now the breakaway kit, this chain right here, this is all included. What the breakaway kit does, you can see the chain on here attached to this lever, this will hook to your tow vehicle, so it's a safety situation to where if by chance this comes disconnected from your tow vehicle it would pull this chain, which would activate the lever, and that would apply hydraulic pressure to your trailer brakes and stop it in a run-away situation.You notice this actuator has a nice primed finish to it. And was mentioned, it is a weld-on installation. Again, the application for this is hydraulic drum brakes. This is designed to mount on to a three inch wide channel tongue.
