Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this REDARC 40 amp Charge Equalizer. This is designed to manage a high current 12 volt supply in a 24 volt vehicle. It allows 12 volts to be tapped from the center of a series-connected, two battery, 24 volt DC electrical system, while still ensuring an equal charge across the two batteries. Now, REDARC Charge Equalizers draw their power from a battery rather than from a current-limited device. What that means is, this is going to a allow for a much larger peak current draw.
Now because of their high peak current capability, and fast transient response, the REDARC Charge Equalizers are ideally suited to loads that require a safe, clean and stable 12 volt supply. Now, in addition, this does feature input isolation which removes the need for an input relay or isolator, making it really easy to install. Now, again, this is gonna be for a dual battery, 24 volt DC vehicle system. and the output voltage is 6 volts to 16 volts DC. The output current rating is 40 amps and the output fuse rating is 50 amps.
The input current rating is 20 volts to 32 volts DC and then the input fuse rating is 50 amps. The standby current draw is less than a hundred milliamps. Let me give you some overall dimensions. Looking at the length first, we are sitting right at about six inches long. And looking at the width, we are sitting right at four and three quarters inches wide, and looking at its height, we're sitting right at about an inch and a half tall.
