2010 Chevrolet Silverado - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms

  • Removable Drawbars
  • Roadmaster
  • Hitch Pin Attachment

Designed for use with motorhome-mounted tow bars, direct-connect brackets eliminate the need for a crossbar on your tow bar. Front arms are easily removable for a streamlined look when not in use. Installs on your Chevrolet Silverado's frame.

Features:

  • Direct-connect brackets provide attachment points for your motorhome-mounted tow bar
    • Only compatible with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch
  • Streamlined design creates supremely clean look
    • No obtrusive quick-disconnect crossbar
    • Hidden brackets sit even farther back than standard brackets
  • Drawbars are easily removable via 2 pins
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength
  • Black powder coat finish is durable and corrosion resistant
  • Simple installation - no welding
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Instructions and mounting hardware included
  • Made in the USA
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

Note: Roadmaster direct-connect base plates will only work with Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2. These base plates will not work with tow bars that require a hitch ball.

Direct-connect brackets do not require a quick-disconnect crossbar because of the heavy-duty nature of your vehicle's frame. Thus, installation is simplified, the hookup process is faster, and the total appearance is enhanced.

The drawbars, or front arms, on this direct-connect base plate kit are simple to mount and remove, easily securing with pins. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets offer a streamlined look. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

Note: The EZ Hook safety cables included with Roadmaster's Sterling tow bars will not work with these direct-connect base plates and require crossbar-style base plates instead.

Really easy install. This is my 4th vehicle I've installed a base plate on so I already had a good idea of what was going to happen. Instructions say the bumper stays on but six 10mm, two 7mm bolts and 4 plastic retainers and you have a ton more access with it off. Everything bolted up real nice.

by:

Easy install, remove factory tow hooks slide new brackets in, mark and drill 2 half inch holes for each bracket install and torque all bolts, simple install quality Roadmaster product with excellent workmanship.

by:

Easy to install. Works great. Probably have 5,000 miles or more now towing with no issues.

by:

Received my order and it contained all parts required to install. Installation was a breeze because each part fit as it was suppose to per installtion instructions which were also very easy to understand. Will do more buisness with etrailer in the future!!

Excellent product. Fit perfectly. Customer service and support well above other suppliers. Videos are exceptional.

by:

Great product. Fitment on our 2008 Chevy Tahoe was as the instructions suggested. Drilling through the frame was required, and took a little time. The first side I worked on took about 3 hours whereas the 2nd side only took about 1.5 hrs. Very happy with the product.

by:

Great Product, heavy duty design. The videos were dead accurate as to how to install them on my 2012 Chev Truck.

2011 Chevrolet Avalanche

Excellent construction. Arrived well packaged and undamaged. Instructions from manufacturer were thorough though a bit dated for more recent late model vehicles. The instructional videos on eTrailer.com were more up to date regarding newer body fascia/ bumper issues. There is a large bolt on the top of the bumper mount on my 2011 Chevy Avalanche LTZ that had to be either ground down or backed out to allow the insertion of the main frame insert. This was not addressed by anyone. I immediately towed my vehicle that weekend approx. 350 miles and everything stayed tight. Hookup to the Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 tow bar was as easy as advertised with no fuss. I do wish the receiver pins were a reduced size to approximate the 1.5 inch size of the removable arms instead of pins that would fit a 2inch receiver. It would be a cleaner look. There is NO perceptible whistle or noise from the empty base plates when driving the vehicle at highway speeds. Having said that, a nice touch would be to include an insert/cover for the empty base plates for appearances. I'm very pleased with the product. There needs to be more information on the product site regarding the selection of the MX baseplate vs. the XL baseplates. It wasn't until I received my products that I understood the differences and the way they attached to the tow bar.

I had the towing brackets installed on my 08 GMC pickup by my mechanic today. The job only took him a bit under 1 1/2 hrs!! They look great and unlike my previous tow system, I will no longer need the quick disconnect tow bar assembly across the front of the tow vehicle.

by:

Great product, perfect fit for my vehicle, professional customer service, reliable and knowledgeable on all their product, I strongly recommend them.

Wonderful

by:

This is exactly what I wanted for my new pickup. Put them on yesterday. We have bought all of our baseplates from etrailer.com. They stand by their products, price is great, customer service great and shipping excellent. Wouldn't buy from anyone else. Thank you Etrailer.

by:

Read the directions twice, watched install video and everything went together smoothly. It is necessary to pay attention to positioning so holes drill easily, l painted the bare metal at the drilled locations to prevent future rust.

by:

I JUST GOT HOME AND FOUND MY ORDER FROM ETRAILER WAITING FOR ME ON MY PORCH. I have not as of yet tried to install it, but everything I will need for installation was included. I will comment later on as to how the installation went. Thank you etrailer for your fast response and delivery.

In order to flat tow a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado you will need base plates, a tow bar, flat-tow wiring harness, and safety cables. • Can I Install a Base Plate Kit and Front Mounted Trailer Hitch on a 2007 GMC Yukon XL
The Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit, # 3154-3, is one of the correct base plate kits for a 2007 GMC Yukon XL 1500. I have included a link to all the base plate kits for the Yukon XL in case you have different model. I spoke with my contact at Curt about the Front Hitch, # C31012. He stated that it will fit your 2007 GMC Yukon as long as it is a 1500, and not a hybrid model. There are no front hitches available for the 2500 or hybrid models. If you can let me know what the year make and model of your ProMaster is and I can piece together a flat towing kit for you if you'd like. Flat towing a vehicle behind a motorhome, one such as your 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4, does require a number of components, all of which are detailed in the linked overview article on flat towing. I also included articles on braking systems and hitch adapters, both of which are required items. The items include a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit of some type, a wiring umbilical and a braking system and base plates on the dinghy. • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 Behind an RV
Yes, you can flat tow a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. Only the 4x4 models can be flat towed with all wheels on the ground. The 2-wheel drive models cannot be flat towed and would have to be put on a trailer. But since you have a 4x4 you don't have to worry about that! There are 5 main parts needed to flat tow a vehicle: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. For base plates you can use Roadmaster MX base plates # 3154-3. • Can a 2011 GMC Yukon 4x4 with Single Speed Transfer Case Be Modified to Flat Tow?
You are correct that the 2011 GMC Yukon 4x4 with single speed transfer case cannot be flat towed as is. I've attached a photo of the pages from the owners manual to assist. It is logical to think because the 2 speed transfer case models can be flat towed without issue that dropping the drive shaft as you stated would allow you to safely tow your single speed vehicle. Without proper testing, I can't confirm this would be the case, but it is very logical. If you decide to tow it, I recommend...
