Video Transcript for Review of Ventline Replacement Push Button Switch - BV0199-03

Hello, neighbors. I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the replacement push button switch for your Ventline trailer roof fence. That's right, folks. This is gonna replace a broken push button. (plastic clicking) You hear a click there, and it's a push button switch for your 12-volt fan motors.

It does work with the Ventline Vanair roof vent model VP-543, and it also works with Ventline roof vented domes. The threaded portion up here. So the part that's gonna actually go through the hole before you put the retainer nut on is .368 inches in diameter. Now, as far as some other dimensions, on the overall length of the usable wire length, stretching it out here, I was getting just a little over seven inches. So keep in mind some of these could be cut a little shorter, maybe a little longer, but roughly seven inches long on that.

The overall length of the switch itself was about five eighths of an inch long by a half inch wide. So again, a simple replacement switch, and it's a push button switch for your 12-volt fan motor. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching, folks. Have a great day.

Better than the original!

After a year, the product is still functioning great.

by:

Bought our 2011 motorhome in June and it had some minor things wrong. The button on the bathroom fan worked intermittently. And I broke the handle that raised and lowered the vent.
The switch and handle fit perfectly and the fan now works every time.

We ordered 3 vent fan blades, 2 fan switches, and 3 fan motors for our travel trailer. One set was to replace an existing vent fan motor and blades. The repair was straightforward and required no additional parts. The other two sets (blades, switch, and motor) were new installation in existing vents in a 2005 camper. We were happy to be able to find parts at etrailer.com that would fit the crossbars and vent screens currently in place so that we didn't have to change those out. We did have to go to an automotive supply store for wire connectors so that we could connect the new fans to the wiring in the ceiling. Our only concern is that the new motors attach to the mounting bracket with only one screw, and then the bracket attaches to the crossbar with only one screw. On the fan where we replaced parts, both the motor and the bracket are attached with two screws. We hope that the new fans will help us manage the interior temperature of the camper more easily.

Two of the fan motors continue to operate well. One failed after approximately 4 months of continuous use in the camper bathroom. We replaced it and are hoping for better results with this one. The fan blades and switches continue to function without any problem.

Install this new switch in minutes works great. Thanks again.

Its just a switch but what makes me rate it excellent is the service and the wide variety of products that etrailer.com offers. As I refit and maintain my motorhome I will always check their website first.

Happy New Year

Giving an average rating because I have not installed it yet. The original switch is junk, and this is my second trailer with a terrible factory-installed fan switch. This replacement seems to be of heavier construction with a definite on-off feeling to it. I suppose we'll see ....

by:

I needed to replace my RV Vent fan motor that gave up the ghost. etrailer had very clear and helpful product replacement information keyed off of the part number on my old motor. I bought the replacement switch,... just in case. Their website was easy to use, parts pricing was competitive and shipping was very fast. Great product service follow up wanting to make sure I received everything and all was in order. They maintain pdf’s of relevant product specs, manuals,... on their website. They are my new go-to RV parts team!! 5 star service!

by:

This switch was an exact replacement for the bathroom vent fan, still working perfectly after a year of use. I would recommend this part as a good replacement.

by:

This is my second order from etrailer (exhaust fan blade and switch) and both have provided excellent response and ship. The received products are exactly as advertised with no problems encountered thus far.
I will continue to do all my trailer needs thru etrailer.

by:

Amazing timing with fast delivery! I ordered this switch because our exhaust fan switch was starting to fail. The day it came in, we discovered the old switch had failed and started running while we were away. I was able to replace within a few minutes. Switch works well and looks exactly as pictured, identical to my old one.
Thanks again etrailer!

by:

Finding older RV parts is always a challange. In this case I just browse the web page and found a picture of what I was looking for. I found two that looked like they could be right and the price was inexpensive so I ordered both. One was an exact match so I replaced the defective part and all is well. The other one will be used for a slightly different application

by:

Ordered this switch from E-trailer and received in a couple of days. Perfect match for switch that was removed and worked flawlessly. Have order several parts over last couple of years and so far things have worked out great. Some parts I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.

by:

Bought this to replace the switch for my RV vent fan. Easy installation and works as it should

by:

Switch worked as expected. Installation was easy.
etrailer gives great service and fast shipping too!

by:

works well and producted as described

Excellent
service from etrailer as usuel!

by:

The Vent-line fan blades fit perfectly, Better than the blades I received from some other camping supply. They were shipped very quickly.

by:

I would not hesitate to order again from etrailer.com. They had the products I needed, great communication and fast and efficient shipping.

by:

This product works as advertised. The only thing I would say to make it better, would be to have general wiring instructions. It's simple, but you can blow fuses guessing.

by:

Received the RV fan switch within a week, installed in minutes and works like a charm

by:

Switch worked perfectly. Direct replacement. No problems with install. Etrailer was very impressive again in the speed of sending the order.

by:

Product arrived on time, as always, in good quality packaging. I’m very rarely let down when ordering from etrailer and even then it’s mostly because I ordered the wrong part :P

by:

got what I ordered and it was a perfect OEM match and resolve my issue for the exhaust fan switch,

by:

Exactly as described! We had to replace the bath vent push switch and this one works fit perfectly.

by:

Was as advertised. I have used etrailer in the past and always have been satisfied.

by:

fan and motor fit -everything went together great

  • Ventline Push-Button Switch Replacement
The Replacement Push-Button Switch for Ventline Trailer Roof Vents Item # BV0199-03 is a simple two wire lead install. As with all electrical work you'll want to ensure the power is off by turning off the breaker before removing the old switch and then you'll be able to just hook the new switch's leads to the vent leads the old switch leads were on. I recommend sealing the wire connections with some Electrical Tap Item # PTW502.

  • Replacement Vent Switch for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent
I have a solution for you, but the Replacement Push-Button Switch for Ventline Trailer Roof Vents # BV0199-03 is the replacement for the Vanair series of vents, so this is not the correct replacement. Instead you'll want to use the Replacement Fan Switch for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents with 110V Fan # BV0199-02 if you have a 110v electrical panel in your trailer. Since you do not have a switch on the actual fan assembly, this should be the correct switch, but I would confirm that...

  • Parts Needed to Add Headlight, Battery and Wiring to Adult Trike
It is certainly possible to add a 12V battery, wiring and lights to your adult trike to make it easier to see. This will probably be easiest if the bike has a basket or other cargo carrying part to store the battery. That battery needs to be rated for enough amp-hours to power the specific light for the period of time you plan to use it. The batteries we offer are trailer breakaway batteries like # HM20008. We also have kits with a battery box too, like # 1026. I suggest high-efficiency...

  • How to Wire Ventline BV0199-03 Replacement Switch
The # BV0199-03 switch is installed inline on the 12-V power source feeding the fan. One lead connects to the motor, the other to a 12-V power source. The switch was typically used on Vanair Powered vents like # VP-543SP, although Ventline used them on a few other older fan models.

  • How to Remove Rotary Switch from Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent
The switch design for the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent part # VP-543SP has since changed from the rotary style you have to the push button design referenced in the video. I called and spoke with an engineering contact at the Ventline division of Dexter Axle and they informed me that in order to remove the switch you need to trace the two wires up and remove them at the source rather than the switch. There is one wire that goes to the motor and the other goes to the rv's power circuit....

  • How To Determine Trailer Axle Rating On Travel Trailer
There are a few different ways to determine the weight rating of your trailer axle. I would first recommend looking for the axle tag which can be found on the center of your axle. This is the only way that will give you the exact rating of your trailer axle. If your axle tag is missing or not readable you can take the GVWR of your trailer and divide it by the number of the axles on your trailer. This will give you a rough estimate on what your rating could be. The final way to find...
