Today we'll be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Spare Wheel Tie-Down Strap for Pioneer Platform racks, part number RRRSWS. The convenient straps let you carry a spare tire on your Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform while freeing up space inside your vehicle for other gear. The unique three-strap design can be adjusted to offer maximum holding capacity. The entire kit is made out of strong and durable materials, such as: corrosion-resistant, stainless steel ratchet and ring; plastic-coated steel S-hooks; and polyester straps. Each strap measures fifty-one and three-sixteenths inches. The center ring can also be adjusted to prevent contact with the wheel. Now that we've gone over some features, we're going to show you how to get this installed.

Everything you see here is going to come with your kit, although you will need to purchase an eye-bolt kit. I suggest using part number RR43117. Now, to start we're going to take one of our straps here, and we're going to take our three buckles. We'll unravel our strap and secure it under that cam buckle. It doesn't matter which one you use to start off, because you will be using both of those cam buckles.

We'll do the same with this one here-and now we'll feed our last strap through our ratchet. Now, we'll open up our ratchet here. There are multiple ways you can load up your strap, but I find the easiest way is to go in through the back through our slot here in the middle, and then out through the front. That way, it'll tuck up some of that excess strap that you have hanging down here. Now here on our vehicle we already have our eye-bolts that we talked about earlier installed, and we already have our tire set in place where we want it. So we're going to start setting down our middle piece-it's going to be that middle ring there-and we'll place that O-ring in the center, and I want my ratchet strap to be the strap at the front which we'll connect to our eye-bolt.

Next, we'll secure our cam buckle straps to those eye-bolts. Now we can tighten all our straps down-we want to start with our cam buckle straps-and then we'll finish off with our ratchet strap. Once you've gotten those tightened down, double check and make sure they're complete secure, and you're ready to hit the road.
