Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform Mounting Kit for heavy duty crossbars. Part number RR43105. This kit works with any Pioneer Platform, to adapt it to your heavy duty crossbars. You'll need to use one kit per crossbar. For example, we're using two crossbars here today, so we picked up two kits. These adapters are made out of a strong powder coated steel, so they're going to resist corrosion.
They're easy to install. Let's show you that now. Now that we've gone over the features I'll go ahead and show you how to use them. Now your going to want to attach these to your Pioneer Platform before you put your platform up on your heavy duty crossbars. They're very easy to install.
The channel nuts slide into the brace bar here. Then you just tighten down the bolt with a 5/8 inch wrench or socket, and it squeezes the channel nut up between the brace bar. Then it's tight. The opposite side of our plate has the same set up only reversed. This is what slides into our heavy duty crossbars, and you tighten it down on top. Then we can get an extra set of hands to help us to get it installed.
I'm just going to slide it on. Then we'll set it in place within our bars. About like that. You'll of course want to have your weatherstripping removed from your heavy duty crossbar, and then you'll want to make sure that the channel nut sits down within the channel. With all of the channel nuts in place, we can go through and tighten them all up.
With everything all tightened down, we can use our Pioneer Platform for anything we need. That's going to complete our look at the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform Mounting Kit for heavy duty crossbars. Part number RR43105.
