Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Pollak toggle switch boot. So a little half boot. What it's gonna do is go over the switch and just help keep the weather off of it, you know, help to keep things sealed up. And with the half boot type design since the handle the switch actually pokes through it. You know you're gonna be able to use this with any length of handle 'cause some of 'em are real long, some of 'em are short.
And this will work with the majority of 'em as long as it's metal. If you have a Pollak switch that has a nylon handle it's not gonna work and it matters to the diameter of the actual switch handle. You know, if you have a super big one this is only gonna accept switch handles of certain sizes. So the maximum or acceptable diameters for the thickness of your switch is gonna be 0.155 of an inch up to 0.24 of an inch. So just about a quarter inch thickness.
And as long as the threaded portion of the main body of the switch where the nut is, or was, rather, as long as that is 1,530 seconds with a 32 type thread, this will thread on. So generally speaking, a lot of your light duty, medium duty switches, you know, this will work with them. The way this is actually gonna work is it's going to replace the nut, I guess you could call it on your switch. So if you remove that and then you can push this over the switch portion and this will just thread onto the switch and essentially just replace the nut there. So really simple and, you know, helps keep things sealed up.
So after checking this one out, there's another type boot available as well. If you have a shorter type switch, like this one here, almost normal size I'd call it, there's this one available that is full coverage. You know, when I go over the whole thing and after checking this one out I'll probably end up keeping this one 'cause it'll work with this particular switch. But the benefit to having this opening in here is like I said, if you got a real long switch this will work out well for you. So a couple of choices there in terms of what you can do to protect your title switch.
Well, with all that said, I think that will finish up our look at of the Pollak rubber switch boot.

EPDM rubber half-boot with 15/32"-32 thread. Protects against salt spray. Resists weather and ozone. Allows toggle handle of any length to protrude. The product was exactly what I needed. The threads fit nice, not too tight. The toggle switch needed some silicone to help the boot go over the stem. Good snug fit. Thanks again
i bought three of these and while putting them on, two out of the three the rubber material ripped, i feel the rubber was too thin
