Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the JR Products 25 foot Awning Tie Down kit. Now, everything you see here is what comes in our kit, so this is going to help us to keep our awning tie down to prevent any flare ups from wind and things. Now, it's not designed to withstand a hurricane or anything, it's just going to help to keep it from bouncing around and getting tossed about a little bit. We'll get our two stakes, a spring, a longer strap, and then a shorter strap, so basically, the way that you'll install this, take one of the stakes, drive that into the ground, make sure that the hook is facing away from your awning.
Attach the long strap with that d-ring, we'll throw that long strap, the loose end up over your awning, and then on the other side to the other stake and face it the same way so that the hook is going now towards your awning.Put the spring on there, grab your short strap, and you'll want to pick the end that has just the single ring. Put that on the hook and then take the loose end of your long strap, run it through the double D ring on your short strap, pull out the excess or tighten it down and then you're good to go. You can always cut off the excess strap if you have any, if you want to or just tie it off however you see fit. Fairly simple process to do, and that'll help us keep our awning more secure and stable, so we can enjoy our picnic, we can enjoy camping and not have to deal with a rowdy awning. The straps are both made of a heavy duty polypropylene webbing, so they should stay nice for a long time. They both measure about 2 inches wide.
Our stakes, grab my other tape measure here, it's a bit longer. Our stakes each are about 15 inches long. This spring from end-to-end is about 8 1/2 inches long and about an inch wide. At the widest point, our stakes are about an inch and a half, and that hook comes away by about an inch from the rest of that stake. Just giving you some reference points there on how big everything is going to be.
As far as the D rings, they're about 2 1/2 inches wide from outside edge to outside edge. The inner dimension is going to be more like 2 1/8 by about 1 3/4 on the outside, and then about 1 1/4 on the inside. That's going to do it for our look at the JR Products 25 foot Awning Tie Down kit..
