Gorilla Lift Compatibility with Tall Side Utility Trailer with Ramp

Question:

I am currently overhauling a 6x10 utility trailer I built around 20 years ago. the top sides are made from 1inch square tubing and spanned with expanded metal. The sides are 30inch in height and the tailgate is 55inch height. I have read the recommendations for the Gorilla Lift and realize my trailer side are 6inch over recommended height. Will this product still work for my application? Thanks for your help in advance.

The Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Cable - 300 lbs # GL1 will be right on the edge of working with your trailer dimensions but it will not be a direct fit. You would need to use a different length of cable 3/16 inch diameter to make it work properly and that cable would need to be obtained from a local hardware store. The 58 inches from loop end to loop end of the Replacement Cable with Quick Link for Gorilla Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift # GLC1-Q1 will be too short for your application.

The extra length of cable would make it work, but will also change the lift strength.
