Today we'll be taking a look at the replacement left side ratchet winch for the Demco Kar Kaddy 3 tow dolly. This is going to help you winch down your straps to make sure that your car is secure on your Kar Kaddy. Pull out the pin that allows our winch to turn and then it ratchets allowing us, again, to pull that strap tight to make sure that it has a nice good firm hold.Whenever you want to loosen up the strap, you can just lift up on the handle there and then you can free spool the strap out. There's a slot in the center of that cylinder to thread the strap through and then whenever you want it to stay secure, just put that keeper pin through the holes on the outside to secure that in place.And this is for the left side of your Demco Kar Kaddy. If you need the right side, that's also available here at etrailer.com. That part number is DM5433 and that is sold separately.
It does just come with the winch with no hardware to attach it, so you will have to either reuse your hardware from the original or pick up some new.That's going to do it for our look at the replacement left side ratchet winch for the Demco Kar Kaddy 3 tow dolly.

Exactly the part I ordered. High quality. Old winch was damaged on road. Removed bolt which allowed damaged winch to be removed and new winch installed. Add on new strap and back to towing my car behind RV. RV and tow dolly parts etrailer has been spot on!

Took awhile to get but etrailer warned me of that upfront. Gave me timely updates until straps were delivered. Straps were just what was described and matched old ones exactly. Have used this company before and will continue to.
The item was ordered and received in 24 hours It took about 10 min to replace the old unit with the new unit. A little WD 40 on the bolt / over night waiting on the new ratchet. The new engineering on the ratchet make it much easier to work . Thank you for quick service, and email updates on delivery in real time. We were leaving on a trip with the dolly this weekend, we didn’t put it off for the lack of working ratchet. The small amount of extra money spent on overnight shipping kept us on schedule. I contacted e trailer on this DM5432 left side ratchet. Only using the product 3 time the pin that holds the long handle and gear fell out on the last trip. I was told it was not under warranty to contact the Demco. I can’t believe maybe the pin wasn’t in right manufacturing process. You cannot buy that handle, a new left side must be purchased plus shipping. I bought at the time the right side and left side only the left side let go. I am want to be clear this is not the paw. I would understand that happening.

I would like to write a review on the customer service of etrailer . I had a problem with a left ratchets on the demco trailer. I looked in the reviews if others had this problem in the reviews, and couldn’t find any documentation. I purchased a right and a left ratchets a year ago. I contacted etrailer about the problem and their Customer service rep: handle the problem working with Demco . This was old fashions service and very much appreciated.
The new ones are smaller on the front side next to the dolly, not as thick, and that makes them loose, but hopping they will stay in when they are turned on with a car on board! The ratchet seems to work well.
Fits my kar kaddy 2 just fine, new design is much better then the original, quick, smooth, confidence it will hold and not come loose
As an rv owner and owning other trailers..etrailer was a great find for me. All the parts needed to maintain and upgrade my equipment has been easily found. A pretty complete company in all ways....to be honest it appears this company truly values your business and wants you as a long time satisfied customer. That's a good way to maintain a business...
put these on a 30 year old used tow dolly WOW what a breeze... one bolt out slide off slide new in replace bolts... and off ya go...
