Rota-Flex Lockout Kit for Blue Ox 5th Wheel Hitches

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Blue Ox Rotaflex lockout kit. Now this kit will include these two steel bars, these two threaded bolts, the two lock nuts and the two washers. And basically this kit will be required when you're using a Blue Ox fifth wheel hitch with any of these Rotaflex pin boxes to prevent damage to the hitch and or the tow vehicle. Basically what it does is this lockout kit will install on the pivot head to keep that head from pivoting.

Now, I did wanna pop up an example. There's what the blue box fifth wheel hitch will look like that we're talking about. And for this video, what I've done is I've pulled this Rotaflex pin box, just to demonstrate how this lockout kit will install. Basically when you install, it will also help keep the rubber pad in the Rotaflex pin box from shifting over time. Just want to zoom in to show you.

But basically what you'll do is you got these two bars with the two sets of holes in it. So you'll put one bar on the very bo- back here, right up against the rubber pad that's in here. And then the other bar will go right up to the front, same way up against the rubber pad. And then you'll take your two long threaded bolts and you'll wanna put 'em in the holes closest to that rubber pad. So what we're gonna do is slide it in there and slide it to the closest holes.

Once you get that bolt through, then you'll take the other one and go to the front and install that again into the closest hole. And again, once you get that in there and do the same, you'll put it into the. And then you'll just make sure it's up against the. And then once you do that, you'll take your washers, put your washers on there, take your lock nut, stick your lock nut under there and you'll do the same on the rear bolt and you'll tighten that down and put that in place. And again, that'll prevent that head from pivoting.

Now this will work with both Blue Ox fifth wheel hitches part number BXR2410, which is for your standard fifth wheel base rails and the BXR2100, which is the fifth wheel hitch that works on the gooseneck hitches. As you see it as a pretty easy installation. But that should do it for the review on the Blue Ox Rotaflex Lockout kit..
