The best hitch for a 2024 Subaru Outback is the etrailer item # e25TR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver, that has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight.
The reason the etrailer item # e25TR is the best hitch is because of the way it installs. The entire crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver visible. This not only looks better but also helps with ground clearance.
I have attached a couple of pictures below along with an installation video so you can see what this hitch looks like once installed and how to get it set up.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56040 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
