Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

Honda Odyssey

I have used the trailer system more then a duzzen times since I bought it. It has been strong, reliable, and was easy to install. I recommend this unit to anyone that needs a little more space for there Honda Odyssey.

2021 Chevrolet Spark

Really like it. Easy to install, minus having to retap passenger side bolt holes. I used cinder blocks and spare pieces of wood to level and put into position. It was delivered quickly however the box was opened and torn up upon delivery however no marks on the item. The instruction videos were fantastic, however I’d like to see more trouble shooting such as moving the muffler or bolt issues. It helps users see the issues they can encounter and help them make a more informed decision. Overall, very happy. Haven’t used it yet. Bought a carrier for camping so that’s why we needed the hitch.

by:
Honda Odyssey

I installed this hitch on a 2023 Honda Odyssey, and it works great.
The install was pretty straight forward. I did have to cut some plastic shielding, but the online videos walked me through the process.
(Tip, use a ratchet strap to pull the muffler out of the way if you're doing this by yourself.)
Easy install, functional, and priced right!

Honda

I was very pleased with this trailer hitch. It cost a couple hundred and my brother and I were able to securely install it in less than an hour, versus the thousand quoted by Honda for the same function. The instructions were extremely clear. If you know what a socket wrench is, I think you'd find this a very accessible DIY. You need the tools yourself, including phillips and flat head screwdrivers, socket wrench, and ideally a monkey wrench to tighten the above exhaust bolts.

2022 Honda Odyssey

2022 Odyssey. Installed it by myself in my driveway, took less than an hour. I deviated a little from the excellent video: drivers side, i didn’t completely remove the splash guard, i removed the first 3 fasteners and used a pair of aviation snips to cut away the part that was in the way. At first i didn’t drop the tailpipe, it seemed too difficult. And I was able slide the hitch bracket over the pipe and rest it there while i did the drivers side.

I had a problem getting the 4 bolts started because the fit was so close, so i used a grinder to make a small chamfer on the end of the bolts so they aligned with the holes more easily.

I really struggled to get the bolts in place above the tailpipe, so finally i dropped the pipe. It was easier than i thought, and putting it back on the hanger was a piece of cake.

The other thing i did differently was to add a smear of loctite on the bolts.

Overall i am very happy with the hitch.

2008 Honda Odyssey

I installed a hitch receiver on a 2008 Honda Odyssey a few years ago all went well and was able to tow without any problems a boat and small trailer I decided to install another one on a 2020 I recently purchased and it went as smoothly as the first I encourage other DIYers to use Trailer as well...it's never let me down.

by:

The installation was very easy. Instruction videos were great. Install took about 30 minutes.

by:

Nice looking, visible only from behind. Heavy. Somehow easy to install. Driver side, no problem. Passenger side needs more explanation how to tie the bolts without removing the exhaust. (I use only flat wrench on this side). 90 minutes job without jacking my van. Only need 2 people for the 1st bolt. Need to try with cargo carrier.

by:

I am pleased with the receiver and the transaction. I installed on 2023 Odyssey by myself in about an hour. The video instructions were mostly in line with what I experienced. I had to make a small modification to the driver side splash guard to accommodate the receiver. This required me to cut about 1/4" slot out of the splash guard in order for the plastic rivets to line up. I used a utility knife to make the cut. Overall it is a pretty straightforward install. I do not plan to tow with this but rather attach cargo racks, bike racks, etc. I am pleased with the product and shipping time was very quick given the size/weight of the box. Thank you!!

by:

Hitch works well once installed. The welding on the hitch must have sprung it, to get the 2nd set of bolts in, I had to pull it into alignment with a come along as they were about 80% aligned but just dar enough off. One of the bolts also had a significant burr on it that cross threaded the frame nut. Needed to go to the hardware store for a tap to fix the threads.

Product arrived within 4 days after ordering late Friday afternoon during Quarantine season. Packaged well and no damage to the paint was found on the hitch. I installed the receiver hitch on my 2019 Honda Odyssey with my 14 year old son without issues. I bought the hitch specifically to put on a 2 bike rack. The etrailer video installation instructions available on onlinefor this exact hitch for the 2019 Odyssey is extremely helpful and spot on. Very happy overall with the experience and product.

It’s been a year and hitch works great for my Kuat 2 bike carrier. The 2 inch hitch is solid and stable for my mountain bike carrier. Paint still looks brand new on the hitch matte black. Would purchase again.

2024 Honda Odyssey

I looks great, easy to install (for the etrailer side). Highly recommend. Honda had a poor design, the exhaust pipe is in the way for the passenger side bolts.

Really easy to install! Took about 25 minutes after watching the video. Looks good and will be a great help when it comes time to move!

Hitch and wiring harness fit perfectly. Both were easy installs.

2018 Honda Odyssey

Perfect for what I needed it for! Worked perfectly on my 2018 Honda Odyssey, to allow the use of a hitch-mounted cargo basket. Install was straightforward, and couldn’t be easier after watching the videos. I would not hesitate to buy this again if needed.

2023 Honda Odyssey

Great hitch design, instructions for install made installation easy. This is my fourth etrailer hitch with 800k miles driven.

by:
2020 Honda Odyssey

I cannot tell you how easy it is to install these types of hitches! it took me 45 min to locate, install, and tighten everything. The piece is not so heavy that you can't do it yourself.

by:

Once we figured out what we were doing by watching videos, it was fairly easy. On the 2021 Honda Odyssey Elite specifically, you have to remove the underside panel by the push buttons and it’s also connected to the wheel well with a screw. As for the opposite side, taking the exhaust off would make it a lot easier to get those bolts on. We have not used it yet with the cargo carrier but we will soon. It also arrived a little scratched up but I’m sure that happens during the shipping.

The hitch receiver itself was fairly easy to install and exactly what we were looking for. Our only complaint was the way the hitch receiver was packaged. The box was big enough, but there was no styrofoam inside, which caused the end of the hitch receiver to puncture through the box during delivery and get banged up. Luckily it did not affect our ability to install it onto our vehicle. If the packaging was more secure, I would have definitely given 5 stars.

2019 Honda Odyssey

The hitch fit, no tears, very good video on the internet by you folks. It looks very well made. It took me 30 minutes to do it from start to finish. Genius idea on the spring to hold the third screw. Would certainly purchase from you again. Thank you.

Great

by:

I'm glad that I came across the etrailer website and purchased the trailer hitch for my Honday Odyssey 2019. The hitch is attached to the car snuggly and looks neat on the car. It looks very sturdy but weighs only 36 lbs. A couple of notes for future buyers:

* As mentioned by some other reviews, it does seem to be the case that the sensor for the hands-free trunk opening (i.e., by swinging your leg underneath the back of the car) is blocked by this hitch. I personally don't use that feature a lot so I'm not bothered by this.

* Although I see myself as a pretty hands-on person, the installation is clearly beyond me. I cannot even take down the panel due to the extremely tight hex screw on the car. I also cannot imagine myself lifting up this hitch and fit it to the car while lying down on the ground, with just < 1 foot of clearance. I had it installed in a car body shop with a reasonable price.

by:
Honda

Install was relatively easy. Clearance (minor scrapping) is an issue at times driving off of inclines. Probably wouldn't be an issue if the Honda Odysseys of this generation didn't have such a sag in the rear.

I would lightly sand the rust away then paint with anti-corrosive paint. For more tips see the attached article:

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Towing a Motorcycle Trailer with a 2019 Honda Odyssey
To tow a small trailer with your 2019 Honda Odyssey I recommend using the Class III etrailer # e98855 because it has a 2" receiver with the high weight ratings. These are over the ratings for your Odyssey so you will be limited by your vehicle instead of the trailer hitch. For wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118781 because of how easy it is to install and how reliable we have found the Tekonsha wiring to be. This simply plugs in behind one of the panels in your rear cargo area...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for Towing a Trailer with a 2019 Honda Odyssey and etrailer Trailer Hitch
You are definitely on the right track! When we installed the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98855 on a 2019 Honda Odyssey we found that from the ground to the top of the inside of the receiver measured 14". When you subtract that from the 16" measurement you took for your trailer coupler that gives you a difference of 2". This means you are looking at a ball mount with a rise of about 2" (see attached picture). For your application I highly recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for My 2019 Honda Odyssey?
There are some small differences between the 3 hitches you're referring to in the Curt # C64NR, etrailer # e98855, and the Curt # C13370, but there is going to be one that I recommend over the others and that is the etrailer # e98855. I'll start by saying that it appears that your 2019 Honda Odyssey has a towing capacity of 3,500-lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 525-lbs; you'll want to check your owner's manual for confirmation on that information. All of the hitches mentioned will allow...

I would be happy to recommend everything needed to tow a trailer with your 2019 Honda Odyssey, but after looking in its owner's manual I found that the max towing capacity for the non Elite and Touring models is 3000lbs, and for the Elite and Touring models it is 3500lbs so you will need to go with a lighter trailer, or a different tow vehicle. This capacity changes based on the number of passengers and cargo added to your Odyssey so I recommend checking the towing section of your owner's...

  • What is Difference Between Curt C64NR Hitch and etrailer Hitch that Fit 2019 Honda Odyssey
The main differences between the two 2 inch hitches that fit your 2019 Honda Odyssey is that the # e98855 is a bit easier to install whereas the # C64NR is much less visible since only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper which also greatly increase ground clearance.
