Recommended Ball Mount for Towing a Trailer with a 2019 Honda Odyssey and etrailer Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello, I installed the etrailer e98855 and the Teknosha 118781 on my 2019 Odyssey but I am confused as to what ball mount I need for towing my trailer. I think I need like 3 inches for a rise but I just want to check. My trailer measures 16 inches when I measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. Any help would be appreciated!

You are definitely on the right track!
When we installed the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98855 on a 2019 Honda Odyssey we found that from the ground to the top of the inside of the receiver measured 14". When you subtract that from the 16" measurement you took for your trailer coupler that gives you a difference of 2". This means you are looking at a ball mount with a rise of about 2" (see attached picture).
For your application I highly recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # EBMK2416 because it comes with a ball mount that gives you a 3" rise and 2 hitch balls; one with a 2" diameter and one with a 2-5/16" diameter.
If you planned on mounting the 4-Way Flat connector of the Tekonsha # 118781 you purchased near your trailer hitch receiver then I also recommend getting the mounting bracket # 18144 which installs directly to the mounting tab on your trailer hitch.
