Note: Does not work with Curt 7-way plugs, use C67UR instead.

For a no-drill option, use this part with the Short Bracket (#18140) or Long Bracket (#18136). Clamp the short or long bracket to the hitch and attach the trailer connector mount to the no-drill bracket. A few Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch Class III, IV and V trailer hitches have the no-drill brackets already installed on them.

Mounting Bracket for 7-Way - 18138

Average Customer Rating:  4.4 out of 5 stars   (508 Customer Reviews)

Mounting bracket for 7-way standard connectors. Includes screws and nuts.

by:

Good sturdy bracket. The holes did not line up with my 7 way electrical connector. I fixed it by drilling new holes and now everything is attached securely.

by:

This did not fit the factory connector despite etrailer's recommendation of it. My mechanic was able to modify the factory bracket to fit the hitch at a reasonable cost. When I tried to return the item etrailer would not provide a shipping label because the shipping cost was more than the item cost. I asked for a credit and they would only provide one if I returned the item at my expense.I found this to be unacceptable and will no longer do business with them. They are a definite outlier on this, in my experience.

by:

Nice piece but I am now aware that this bracket wasn't compatible with the 7-way kit I installed. I made it work by drilling more holes but be aware, not all brackets work with all 7-way plugs.

by:

Bracket and receiver fit perfectly on me 2024 Sprinter 2500 crew.

by:

I read several reviews beforehand that stated the bracket is a little thin and would flex when connecting the trailer lights, so I ordered two of these and coupled them together to make it a stronger bracket. (Just have to open up the corresponding holes in one of the brackets so the screws will still feed through. Now it's much stronger and won't bend at all when making a connection. I decided to mount the bracket sitting on top of the bracket weld of my Draw-tite hitch so that it didn't hang so low below the hitch and risk getting damaged coming off a curb or hitting a low spot in the road. I have a 2011 Toyota Highlander and used an Exacto knife to cut out some of the plastic body panel so the harnessed wiring would fit through. Looks almost factory style to me. And it works great!

Works great!

by:

Hello ,I have not received my hitch yet. I received the wiring brackets. I will review after I have installed my order.....

by:

I modified the bracket to facilitate installation of 7 prong adapter on 2006 Expedition. Had to use some heat to change the angle to 45 degrees, and cut a couple slots for the clamps, but works when nothing else did. Clamped directly onto the tow bar, and still sturdy after 800 miles.

One year out still solid.

by:

You need another bracket to connect this properly to the receiver bar. Would have been nice to know. It also does not work with the 7 way connector because the holes don't match up.

Honestly I recommend using bracket part # HM48625 as it a more universally made bracket. You can connect the bracket directly to the bumper or you can use an additional bracket to attach it to your hitch. An example of that bracket would be part # C57202.

by:

Worked well. Had to flip it around and drill a couple of new holes in order to mount the wiring harness and keep it hidden within the bumper enclosure.

by:

easy to install, but not as sturdy as I would like. I find myself having to use both hands to make sure the plug is all the way in.

by:

Bracket was a little difficult to mount where it should go.

by:

This product is still working great after the first year and was easy to install.

by:

Fit was perfect for the sealed pigtail I ordered.

by:

Used with Volvo OEM 7-pin/4-pin wiring harness. Mounting holes aligned perfectly, but could not use included screws (too short).

by:

Bracket worked as advertised.

by:

Could not use. This is not the correct part for the T-One vehicle wiring harness (118266). The website stated this one fit my Frontier and the part number called out in the wiring harness did not, so I ordered this one. etrailer order checker did not catch it either. I was able to find the correct bracket locally.

I have seen that part # PK12711U is a better alternative to this bracket. The oval shaped holes make it more compatible with more harnesses. I am glad to know that found something that worked for you.

by:

Products exactly like it describe very good quality but does not exact work with out modification

1 Curt 7-way T-connector For Factory Tow Package need to modify it to make it fit

by:

Great service thanks Kathy. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Quoted upwards to $1k for installation of hitch and brake controller. Video from etrailer made it easy and saved a ton of $.

by:

This worked great and has held up well after a year of us.

by:

Great fit and hardware would highly rec ommend

Great no prob

by:

This fit the existing bracket on my Curt hitch perfectly. Holds 7 pin trailer connector snugly.

by:

The bracket mounted to the receiver with ease

by:

The agent chat with me give me the wrong part # to order. After watching the installation Video for the Hitch. I realize it was a different part #. But I have just have to Drill the holes on the bracket to match the 7 Pin connector housing

by:

Does the job and fits perfectly.

by:

My first order didn't come with the mounting bracket for the 7 way plug, and so I emailed and they told me I needed to purchase this bracket and the holes and the size doesn't match up with the plug.

An alternate bracket that would work better would be part # HM48625 as it gives you more slots to match to the connector.

  • How To Attach 7-way Connector To Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 75280 On 2006 Honda Ridgeline
To mount a trailer hitch receiver to the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75280 you were looking at for your 2006 Honda Ridgeline you would need the no drill mounting bracket # 18140 and # 18138 if the 7-way connector you purchase does not include one. Now to add a 7-way connector to your Ridgeline you will first need to add a 4-way connector using # 118400, and then using the # ETBC7 which will plug into your newly installed 4-way connector and...

  • Recommended Mounting Bracket For 7-Way Vehicle Side Connector
The mounting bracket I recommend to use with the # 50-87-004 7-way connector is part # 18138. This bracket comes with the mounting screws needed to secure the 7-way connector. If you do not want to drill holes in the vehicle to mount the bracket, you can take a look at one of our no-drill brackets. The no-drill brackets feature a hose clamp that can secure the bracket to a trailer hitch so you do not have to drill holes to mount the connector. For a short bracket you would order part...

The actual 7-way mounting bracket can be installed to the 18138 backwards, as shown in the video. This should place the face of the 7-way more or less flush with the face of the bumper. • 7-Way Trailer Connector Recommended for 2016 Chevy Traverse
I'd be happy to help you with that. Even though you don't have the 'factory tow package', your vehicle is already prewired for a 7-way and a brake controller, if you need one. For the 7-way, you can use part # 118271 that will plug into the connector under the bumper. The kit includes the fuses and relays needed to activate the tow package. For a 4 pin connector, you can either use an adapter like # PK12716, or you can use a t-connector like # 118384 that would plug into the connection...

The only exception is maybe substituting the long bracket # 18136 for the short # 18140 because there isn't always enough space using the short one with a 7-way. • Brackets for Installing 7-way Trailer Connector on 2004 Chevy Silverado
To install a 7-way like part # PK11893 on that generation GM truck, we typically use a mounting bracket, part # C57202 that mounts to the crossbar of the hitch using a band clamp. Part # 18138 is used to connect the 7-way to the bracket. Many times folks are tempted just to screw the bracket directly into the crossbar of the hitch. Adding holes to or modifying the hitch in any way can weaken it structurally and will void its warranty. If there is a suitable mounting point under the bumper,...
