Trailer Wiring Mounting Bracket Recommendation for a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I recently purchased this item for a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My vehicle has the wiring ran to tow receiver location. When I opened the tow hitch receiver, I noticed there isn't a location to mount the plugs for easy access when plugging into trailer. Do you have any insight as to where the plugs are usually mounted? Or a how to instructions. There isn't any info with instructions that come with the receiver.

We have several mounting brackets that will work for you. I recommend using the Tow Ready No Drill Short Bracket Mount # 18140 to be used in conjunction with the Tow Ready 4-pole Mounting Bracket # 18144. Using these two brackets you will be able to mount a 4-pole directly to your trailer hitch. There will not be any drilling into the hitch or your Jeep to mount these brackets.
The Tow Ready No Drill Bracket # 18140 is 3 inches wide by 3-3/4 inches long. We have a video of the hitch being installed on the same year vehicle, and according to the video the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most portion of the bumper is 4-1/4 inches, so this bracket will work.
If you would like a longer version of this bracket we do offer the Curt No Drill Bracket, Long # C57202. This bracket is 3 inches wide and 6-1/2 inches long, and would work in the same way, it just might stick out past the bumper on your Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Once you install the no drill bracket of your choice by using the band clamp to secure the bracket to the hitch you can then use the Tow Ready 4-Pole Mounting Bracket # 18144, or the Draw-Tite 7-way mounting bracket # 18138.
I have included several videos that show the different brackets being installed, and the video of the hitch that you referenced being installed on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, for your reference.
