Video Transcript for Rackem Manufacturing Removable Wheel Chock Review

What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Rack'Em Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock. If you're like me, and you got a two wheel motorized vehicle, and you have a tire with less than six and a half inches, that's what you need to be able to use this wheel chock. Wheel chocks are really nice just because, this one's removable, which is awesome, but also just the wheel chock being what it is. It really helps getting everything locked down.As you can see, I have mine strapped to the left and the right side of my handlebars. As I started tightening one, the wheels are trying to turn the whole entire time.

This way, it's going to keep it nice and combined in there. And now that I'm pulling forward too, it's pushing up against this front part, which is extremely, extremely solid. It doesn't matter what kind of roads you bring this thing back on, it's not going to tip over.To sum it all up, I've been using a lot of different wheel chocks today. And one thing that is unique to this one is just the powder-coated finish. All of them are kind of the same.

If they're removable, they're removable, great. Some are going to be able to fit up to like a seven inch tire, but that's not too much of a difference for me not to like this one just as much as all the other ones. The installation process wasn't too hard, so let's go over that with you now.First thing we want to do is just getting an idea of where you want your bike to be. For me, I want to be able to walk through the door you're standing in. And of course, I want to be able to access my little hatch here, got a spare tire and some tools in there.

This way, my back's going to be here and I have all this room to get all my stuff ready for the trip. What I'm going to do is just place it down, take a little Sharpie or something, and mark these eight holes. And that's where we're going to do our drilling. You are going to have to supply your own hardware, pick your drill bits accordingly. Now what we want to do is take these little holes right here, and we want to make sure that the skinny part is going to be facing towards the bend. I want to get my bike in like this.

The skinny part is facing that way by the bend right here. Just keep that straight, we don't want to put it on backwards.Do that, grab your hardware, and a friend if you got one, and I do. He's going to go underneath and tighten all these up for me while I hold it up top. Now, we can go ahead and take our chock and fit these two little studs right here in that first slot, and slide it forward. And then we have some hardware that came with the kit, which is awesome. It's this little wing nut guy. What we want to do is put that into the slot, and that's going to thread in the threaded portion of that bottom bracket that we just secured down, and that's all we got do. And we are in business. Before I get the bike and load it up, I just wanted you to get a good look at the nice finish to it. It is going to be an extreme ware hammered powder-coated finish and it's going to be extra, extra strong. So if you have an enclosed trailer, definitely not going to rust away. And if it's on the outside of a trailer, you really don't have to worry about it. It looks really, really cool, and it's going to be extra tough against mother nature. And that's going to do it for our look at the Rack'Em Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock. And I'm Adam at etrailer.

Perfect for my 110 pound Moped. Goes next to our Tandem Trike in 10'x 5' Covered Trailer. Moped is canoe shuttle, trailer will also hold two canoes on top.

by:

They are OK. I’m using them on a snowmobile trailer, so the ability to detach the chock and just leave the base is appealing. Hopefully they last. Fit and finish is a bit rough and it takes some force to bend the chock to screw it to the base.

by:

Nice chock but doesn't really prevent the tire from going left and right. This is good for when you need to prevent the motorcycle from moving forward when strapping it down.

by:

Worked well. A little wider than I needed for bicycles. Initial set up took some time. Had an issue with a trailer beam being in the way for one bike and ended up installing in reverse (on reverse side of tire) as result. Need to make sure the bikes are properly tied down. No issues with a total of about 1200 miles of hauling this year. Nice that you can quickly remove all but the bracket, in order to use trailer for other purposes, and not have brackets in the way.

by:

I use this to trailer my KTM 350 dirt bike and it does a good job. I was concerned that the chock was going to be too wide for my dirt bike tire, but it holds it securely and it is not too wide of a chock. The pic of the tire in the chock is size 110/100-18 for reference. The chock is quality made and does not feel flimsy or cheap in any way. The painted coating is a thick type of texture that is tough and would be hard to scratch up. Mounting the base to my wooden trailer floor was very easy and the chock is solid when attached to the base. I have trailered my bike on short and long hauls (300 miles) and the chock mount wing nuts have never loosened. The chock works well and I ended up buying another one. As you can tell from the pictures the chock still looks brand new and it has been used many times.

by:

Well made and well thought out design. Due to its ability to be removed easily, it works great as the Third wheel chock that I mounted in the rear of my 6X12 trailer. After mounting the first two bikes in the front of the trailer, I then Mount this one at the rear which allows for easy access of all three bikes.

by:

Great product.

by:

Wheel chock & base mounts very easily and looks great. Very convenient to be able to remove wheel chock frame from the base. Would be nice to have an option for a narrower wheel chock for dirt bike width tires that could mount on same base.

by:

Easy enough to install and heavy/durable. Ran into minor issue when the bolt hole on the chock did not line up exactly with the hole on the plate so I had to forced the wing nut to screw in on one side. I'm leaving in 4 days and need it this so no time to exchange. Not sure what will happen when I go to remove it and/or re-attach the chock (stripped threads maybe...). Other than that it's good. Seems a little pricey for what it is though.

The instructions read "1\4" long bolts" but really it's 1\4" diameter bolts at whatever length needed for your application. Easy enough to figure out that 1\4" long doesn't make any sense but since it's worded odd in the instructions I'm pointing it out. I just took the plate to the hardware store to make sure I got all the right size bolts, washers, and lock/stop nuts.

Go service

by:

Going to be used for transporting a Spyder in an enclosed trailer. Fit the front wheels snugly.

by:

I bought two of these to go on an open 4 x 8 trailer. They were very easy to install and being removable, still leave the trailer available for other uses. The quality is superb... very pleased.

by:

Wheel chock is well made and will work perfectly for my needs. etraler was fast is shipping this order.

by:

I would have given 5 stars if the bases were shipped with the chocks. I am giving 3 stars for Brittney who responded within hours of my inquiry and placed an order for the missing bases. She saved the sale.

by:

I didn't receive any mounting hardware.I leave next Wednesday for a trip and really wanted to put these on my trailer.

For this wheel chock the mounting hardware is not included so you would need to source nuts and bolts to attach to your trailer. You would need a total of 8 fasteners.

by:

It's the perfect solution to keep my cargo trailer floor un-cluttered. One minor suggestion would be to attach the lock washer to the mounting screw. I remove the chocks when not in use and the hardware can easily be lost. Other than that, I love 'em.

by:

Thank you for getting the parts here fast delivery the parts look great the paint job on the items excellent there nice and sturdy and I can't wait to put it in my trailer

They hold my bikes very well when I go to the shows

by:

Product arrive as scheduled. I mounted the wheel chock in my trailer and it looks good. Tried resting my bike in it and it is going to work well. My bike has a low profile tire and dual brake rotors. This chock is going to work just fine.

by:

Product is advised. Works well with 400 lb motorcycle inside cargo trailer. Nice removable feature if not being used.

by:

We've ordered more than once from etrailer and every product has lived up to its description; this one was no exception. Excellent quality, sturdy, and exactly what we needed for stabilizing a motorcycle for cross-country travel.

by:

Work great. I have 4 of them in my cargo trailer. Can easily remove them by hand to move bikes around.

by:

Sturdy, well packaged. etrailer we great in communicating our package would be a bit delayed and asked if we would like to substitute the delayed item. We chose to wait and the package arrived within a couple days.

by:

Perfect. Great quality. Using it inside of my enclosed trailer. No bolts/screws included.

by:

Totally useless, per the photos and video I thought the mounting hardware was included. All I received is the chock which I will be returning for a refund. Very dissatisfied.

by:

I have another RA-17 and it’s great. I ordered my second one on a Tuesday afternoon with 3 days shipping, it arrived late the next late morning.

That’s service.

Most likely you are going to need the part # RA-17 as it can accept a tire that is up to 6-1/2 inches wide. You will need to check the width of your tire to see if this will work. Then you will need tie downs. For tie downs ShockStrap has a set of 4 straps specifically for motorcycles, # 297-7RSBB-M. With the built in shocks these straps won't accidently slip off. Or you could use strap set # 06303 combined with traditional ratchet straps such as # 317-340720. Check out the install...

The Rack 'Em Removable Wheel Chock # RA-17 can be installed anywhere that offers a suitable mounting surface. This carrier does not include hardware so you will want to select suitable hardware and possibly some reinforcement plates for the underside of the bed.
