So, I converted my brand new Loadrite trailer to LED'S and wanted to add up a reverse light. I purchased this 5 wires trailer light harness to do the trick. Very good quality and the color code stayed the same. Had no problem what so ever and was an easy swap. I soldered every wires and protect them with heat shrink tubing and that should last a very long time.
Thank you.

George, after one year, Im pleased to say that your product still perform flawlessly. All is good with the harness and would recommended to all of your potential customer. Thank you for the follow up a year later, really show whos taking care of his customer. Again, thank you,

Very bad experience. Placed an order on 5-24-23 for an item that showed to be in stock on the website. Receive an email stating that is back ordered and due to ship 6-5-23, several emails later still no wiring harness. Finally 7-10-23 I receive an empty envelope, well not completely empty it has a letter from USPS stating that the enclosed was found loose in the mail. A box would have been more appropriate to ship this item, as I have been in shipping for two different companies for 38 years now. I am unable to upload pictures of the envelope, I will send them via email.

I purchased this set to rewire my race car trailer and add reverse lights to the pigtail... wiring went flawlessly and there was plenty of wire and connectors are good quality... even had a dog chew on the trailer end and other than a slight ground issue, works perfectly.

by:

Sent the wrong harness ,... I ordered a 5 wire , received a 4 wire. Will not be able to use it ,and need the harness before the weekend, going on vacation .

Oh my goodness! My apologies for sending the incorrect harness. Customer Service will be in contact with you.

by:

Everything I ordered is in the box! Excited to get it all installed.

by:

Got this wiring harness for my small camper to completely re wire it. Also got rheTLl28RK combination trailer lights. Nice and bright!

by:

5-wire harness kit is exactly what I need. I hate splicing wiring runs because, in a saltwater environment, this only leads to more chances for corrosion. The only thing that would be better is the complete round plug set-up.
My boat and truck are happy!

by:

Easy to install perfect length and works great!! Can’t see it on the trailer because I have it heat shrinked and wire loomed for protection

by:

WORKED GREAT.

by:

Worked exactly how I needed it to.

by:

Worked great. Exactly as I expected

by:

After having this in my garage for about 6-9 months I finally got around to rewiring my trailer with this harness. The harness has been on the trailer for 4 months and it has been solid. I would recommend getting longer than you think you will need. IE if you have a 25 ft trailer get a harness that is ~30 ft.

I have been in sales, retail, B2B, and sales management for over 30 years. E trailer has the whole package - excellent customer and sales service, great products, videos for those of us who like to do our own work, fair prices, and my go-to for my trailer needs.

by:

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I was having issues with my trailer lights on a 20 year old trailer. I decided it was best to just remove all of the old wiring and start off new. This product took care of any concerns i might have had by just replacing a wire or two. All of the lights and connections are excellent and I don't worry about something not working.

by:

Wiring is great. Was given 2 truck tail lights with back up lenses so I needed to rewire my trailer for a 5 wire system. My trailer is 30 years old so it needed a complete makeover. e trailer was a great help. They had a 5 wiring harness and a duel trailer connector for my Jeep. I needed a 4 wire and a 5 wire adapter to fit the Jeep to 2 trailers I own. They had what I wanted and it was delivered in 3 days.

by:

This wiring is almost plug and play! It is already set up with double brown wires to meet today's trailer wiring standard. And with the hitch-end flat plug and ground ring already in place, it is a quick installation. Thanks.

by:

I. ordered this along with marker lights its been a year and they work great.

by:

Needed to replace my wiring on my 18 foot boat trailer. This did the job. Easy plug and play.

by:

Just what I needed thanks

by:

Product works well. Installed on boat trailer used primarily in saltwater. Corrosion is minimal.

by:

Great, I think I will enjoy the install, with all that's going on in the World. Thanks for the extremely fast delivery and help with making my selections!

I did make one mistake, the Thin LED Light I order; I think I need to order the base bracket as well!

by:

Fast shipping and great product. Easy to install on my boat trailer. Will test the longevity of this product over the next several years. But overall very pleased, and etrailer is a wonderful company.

by:

Package arrived late Fri night or Sat morning which isn’t bad but I don’t know what your processing time is. I never got a confirmation that it had shipped. Everything came in good shape and was installed on trailer. I would use your company again. Thank you for responding to me.

by:

When the original products I ordered was out of stock, they contacted me ASAP and let me know there was another part number that could be used. Great service.

by:

I received exactly what I thought I needed. I have my trailer rewired and we're ready to go fishing. Couldn't be happier!

  • Troubleshooting Non-Functioning Trailer Tail Lights
It sounds like you may be using a 5-pole wishbone flat trailer connector such as # A25W5B. This has dual brown running light wires to give you a separate wire for each side of the trailer. You can disconnect the trailer and vehicle and test each one individually; this will help isolate the cause for the problem. You can test the trailer directly with a 12V battery (use the vehicle's or a spare) to see if the running lights behave properly. If the running lights work when powered directly...

It is a bit longer than you need but the 4 male and 1 female plug is usually found on the trailer and not the truck causing the long harness issue. Typically you find this on the the vehicle side of things. I definitely recommend adding a junction box like the Junction Box # 3375601101 because it helps keep all of the connections in 1 place and makes it easier to add/remove and troubleshooting wiring in the future. Just be sure you install it in a safe place where it won't get wet since it isn't submersible. • Turn Signal on Trailer Stops Working when Headlights are On
The problem you are having is a classic ground issue. If the ground wire to the trailer frame or the tail light grounds are not connected securely to clean, rust and paint free surfaces then when the headlights are turned the extra amperage draw for the running lights will cause all sorts of lighting issues. I would start by removing the ground wire at the trailer coupler and cleaning up the connection point and re-securing it to the trailer frame. Next I would check the ground connection...

  • Replacing 5-Way Connector with 8 Wires on Boat Trailer
We definitely have what you need to replace the 5-Way connector on your boat trailer, but there's not going to be a pre-made 5-Way harness that includes 8 wires. As you mentioned the most you will likely find is a wishbone harness like # A25W5B that uses 6 wires (a separate running lights circuit wire for each side of the trailer). A previous owner or the factory simply used a non-standard wiring setup when installing the connector and wiring on your trailer. With all of that being said,...

  • Replacing Trailer 5-Way That Has Each Circuit Split Into Two Wires
That specific version of 5-way is not available at this time but the # A25W5B is the closest solution we have to this. It has the brown wire "wishboned" or split for either side of the trailer but the rest of the wires are a single wire per circuit. So what you'd need to do is run both of the wires you have on your trailer to the single wire on the 5-way and you'd be set. For butt connectors we have the part # DW05714.

Since your 2016 Dodge 2500 has a 7-way, I recommend just adding a 7-way trailer wire connector to your trailer like # H20046. This will give you a simple connection between your vehicle and trailer without converters. You can simply tape up the wires you aren't using at the trailer and leave them in your junction box. If you want a 7 way with junction box, you can use the 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # HS381-9000. Adding this molded 7-way plug will make a much cleaner...

Installing the Autowbrake brake controller, part # 3430001, doesn't actually requrie you to make any changes to the 4-way connectors on your vehicles. All it needs to function is to be wired to the proper wires on the trailer and a constant power source. If you want, you can wire the Autowbrake's power wire (the black wire) to the trailer's running lights and then it will have power as long as you tow with your lights always on. • Identifying 5th Circuit of Trailer Wiring
Red isn't a standard color for trailer wiring that uses 5 wires so you'd have to track down that circuit to determine what it controls and wire as needed. It's most likely a reverse light circuit for either a lock out solenoid wired to the back of a surge brake actuator or for reverse lights at the rear of the vehicle. For a 5-way connector with 25 feet of wiring we have the part # A25W5B.

  • 6-Way Round Trailer Connector Recommendation for a Boat Trailer
Wishbone wiring refers to the running light (brown wire) circuit of the part # A25W5B that you referenced. The circuit has two wires running from the pin because this circuit get run to both sides of your trailer's wiring. If you need a 6-way round connector you would instead need the part # H20036. This has a wishboned running light circuit, but the 5th circuit is not. You can still make this work though.
