Optronics STL72RB Oval Sealed LED Tail Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Recessed-Mount Light

Recessed mount light

Recessed-mount trailer lights install underneath a grommet (A70GB - sold separately). These lights will extend into the mounting surface and require that a hole be cut into your trailer.

I purchased $XX worth of led lights 6 marker lights and 2 ovals. The marker light had a protective wrapper and showed up pristine condition, however both ovals were thrown in the box with no protective wrapper the clear oval has a scratch but is still in good condition the red oval has scratches all over it to the point it looks used. Pretty Sad. Wish I could off included photos but it was hard to see the scratches In the picture my camera isn't the greatest.

I am sorry that they arrived in this condition. Let me get you over to our customer service department for them to get some replacements sent out to you.

I had to replace one burned tail light on my 2005 cargo trailer. I bought two and replace the other one as well. They work perfectly. The size and the 3 pins connction are the same as the original. A little downside is regarding the packaging. I would expect each light wrapped individualy to avoid the rattling in the box. See pics.

Exact replacement for my needs and replaces a non-working light. Super happy!

I have a Haulmark utility trailer. One tail light was giving me trouble and I tried fixing it but decided to just replace it with these. They are brighter and fit right in to the old grommet. They were a bit loose so I wrapped some e-tape around them and they are staying in place just fine. I also ordered the pigtails and soldered and heat-shrinked the connections - the factory connecting were "scotch-locks", which I hate. After I did this, I looked closely at the old lights and realized that there was a 3 prong plug which I might have been able to use rather than doing new connections and soldering them, but by doing what I did, I now have tight connections and I can easily replace the light if I ever have to (I got rid of the scotch locks). Yes, I could maybe have soldered the old connections and used the old plug, but it was constructed in such a way that I didn't realize it was there (I thought it was part of the light body). My picture shows the old light and the old plug disconnected from it and the new LED in place on my trailer. It works great - glad I did this. It's much brighter than the old light.

by:

Fit was perfect, shipping was fast, brighter and better than the original piece that was replaced. Would recommend to all.

by:

Needed these lights for one of our cargo trailers. I had a rear light go out, and these units are sealed... You can't buy just a replacement bulb. They fit perfectly, and are bright and reliable. Customer service was amazing, quick delivery. I'm a contractor, with 6 of these large cargo trailers, and using these LED replacement lights is the only way to go. They never burn out! Love Etrailer.

One year later, the trailer lights are doing great. Thanks for checking in. That rig is used every day in our business, and they are performing fine.

  • Is Optronics 48 LED Light # STL70RB Brighter Than Optronics 10 Super LED Light # STL72RB
I spoke with my contact at Optronics and they said the trailer lights are measured in candela output. Candela output is the luminous intensity of the light, or candle power. For comparison they said the candela output on a 100 watt incandescent light bulb in your home is 100 cd. They said the Optronics Sealed, 6-1/2 Inch Oval LED Trailer Light, 10 Super LEDs, part # STL72RB, uses 10 Super LEDs and has a candela output of 12 cd on the tail lights and 221 cd on the stop and turn lights. That part is the Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light # STL72RB. This light uses the same PVC Grommet # a70gb with the 3-wire Pigtail # A45PB or # A47PB (right angle pigtail) for installation. • Troubleshooting Dim Trailer Left Turn Signal
Yes, this could possible be an issue. Sometimes a faulty ground can limit the amount of current that can flow to the lights. It can also cause your lights to behave in unpredictable ways. My recommendation would be to hook up a 12V, well charged, battery directly to your trailer connector. Apply the negative terminal to the connector ground and then apply the positive terminal to the different light pins. If the lights are still dim, your problem is in the trailer wiring. If this is the...

When mounting the Trailer Tail Light # STL72RB as a turn signal/tail/stop light it has to be facing directly behind the trailer towards a vehicle that would be behind you. The orientation of the wiring harness pins is not super important but it has to be visible directly from a vehicle behind the trailer.

  • Installing Optronics # STL72RB LED Trailer Stop, Turn and Taillight
The Optronics # STL72RB is designed to mount into an oblong hole in either the trailer or a bracket like # BK70BB. A grommet like # A70GB would push into the 6-11/16 x 2-5/8 inch hole in the trailer or bracket, and the # STL72RB lamp would push into the grommet. If you'd care to send me a photo or two of your old lamps, I'd he happy to recommend replacement lamps that would easily install on your boat trailer.

  • Troubleshooting 12 Volt Accessory Circuit Not Working After 7-Way Plugged in Upside Down
How were you able to plug the 7-way in upside down? There is a cut out and notch on the 7-way that was designed to prevent that. Are you sure it actually went in upside down? With that said if it did somehow happen the problem you described would have to be that the 12 volt power circuit got shorted out and probably melted/destroyed the wiring. You would need to replace it with the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.
