This Dutton-Lainson single-speed, heavy-duty winch is designed for multipurpose horizontal pulling operations.The winch was fairly priced but unfortunately the cable lock kit was missing from the original shipment. The etrailer folks were very responsive and cooperative in correcting the problem by shipping me the missing parts at no additional cost.

Only option for replacing my trailer winch. It worked perfectly. Company even got me expedited shipping for free. Got it in 2 days. Replaced my existing winch in about 30 minutes and on the water 30 minutes later. Perfect communication and response. Really impressed.
Product is just as it appears in the video and in the pictures. Installed it in no time, lined up perfectly with old holes on boat trailer. It was a little wider on the spool where strap rolls up compared to my old one but should be fine, if not will comment after some use. Shipping was very fast and George kept me updated along the way. Highly recommend etrailer.com, wasn't my first purchase and won't be my last. Thanks guys!

Item was ordered at ~11:00 AM. A shipping notice received at ~2:00 PM the same day stated that the item had shipped. It arrived in good shape 2 days later. GREAT service-Thank you! Upon receipt, inspection showed the item is well built. The frame appears sturdier, gears thicker and a longer handle improving mechanical advantage (less effort) than the worn out unit it is replacing (mid '90s vintage manual winch on a Shoreland'r boat trailer). It has not been mounted or used yet, but will be in time for next year fishing season and I feel confident that it will perform well as intended. My only complaint is weld splatter. The corrosion finish (assuming some type of electrolytic cadmium coating) looks good, but should not have been applied until weld splatter, an unfortunate remnant of the MIG welding process was removed particularly on the inside of the take-up reel. If left intact, it will chafe the new strap shorting its life. The splatter will be removed before installing the new strap. Unfortunately, that will result in breaks in the corrosion finish, but protect the strap.
Winch is great. My only concern is it was shipped in its normal box. This was ripped and taped together when I received it. Luckily nothing was lost or damaged.
Excellent company to work with, helpful parts lookup, speedy parts delivery and polite informed staff.

Was disappointed in the fact that the pre-drilled holes for the nuts and bolts did not fit my boat trailer.

You can see the mounting hole diagram in the Expert question link below. It is recommended to measure your bolt pattern to make sure that it matches.

Ordered a boat trailer winch and some tie down straps. Loved the product videos showing real life operations of the winches. Helped narrow down my choice. Ordered on a Tuesday and had it on Thursday. Just in time for the weekend. Awesome.
Just purchased the trailer wench. Ordering and shipping were a breeze. Love that it is made in USA. We have only used it once, it’s mounted on a hay buggy but have high hopes for it performing better than others we have purchased at big box stores.
good Quality product works well and seems reliable, the only reason i didn't give it four stars was because my old one had a setting for releasing line out without the handle spinning and this one doesn't. not a big deal as long as no one is by it when you're releasing it.
Product was delivered in re-taped compromised package, nut missing for handle attachment.

I use about 25 of these winches a year on my projects. So I've done a lot of research, looking for the best winch in this size for the money. With etrailers free shipping over$99.00 I don't need to look any further. This winch is also better made than most of the other 1800 lb. Brands out there.
I received my order but it wasn’t complete. I ordered a winch but I did not receive the handle that goes with it.

I ordered this winch based on favorable reviews. I too got expedited freight at no additional charge. The winch installed easily and works fine. Cheaper and more powerful than my local options and free freight was a bonus. The videos are excellent!

Great winch. Bolted right on my 1985 Shorelander trailer with no modification. It has been on my trailer for one year outside in all Ohio weather and still looks and operates like brand new.
I'll try to keep this short. I'm 65 years old and originally from Long Island, N.Y. I've been around boats my entire life. I was even brought out in a boat by my mom and dad when I was but a babe. From row boats to operating 50 footers off shore, I've been around. I even worked in a marina for several years. Currently I'm kind of land locked, operating a Bass Boat in the finger Lakes Region of New York.
All that said... were I to design my own winch, this is what it would be. Well built and strong. I highly recommend it.

Approximately a half hour was required to disassemble, remove splatter and reassemble. The unit was mounted and used this year, and as anticipated performed flawlessly as expected.
