Optronics ST70RB Oval Sealed Tail Light Diagram

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Recessed-Mount Light

Recessed mount light

Recessed-mount trailer lights install underneath a housing or a grommet (A70GB - sold separately). These lights will extend into the mounting surface and require that a hole be cut into your trailer.

Lost light and rubber grommet on road trip with motorcycle trailer. The replacement light and grommet ordered fit well and works great. Easy ordering and delivery as expected. Video was very helpful. Only issue I see is the rubber grommet is not as snug as original, however fit fine.

I bought a trailer a year ago and it had some lights out, i tried going locally for replacements but couldn't find what i needed, tried etrailer online and they had the lights for my particular trailer that were exact replacements, i ended up going with the led option and they are still going strong today! etrailer is now my go to site for anything and everything trailer, Thank You etrailer!

I wish I had a picture of the signal
light flashing.

Attached is a picture of my 1958 Alumniacrafet w/Linex inside, Powdercoat outside, and new oak seats.

I was going to take it on the maiden voyage and realized the lights on the trailer had burned out. Luckily etrailer's website was very easy to use and offered a plug and play replacement.

The parts arrived to NW Montana on time. My wife and I were able to see the Arctic Grayling spawning up Rogers Creek from Lake Rogers in NW Montana. Thousands of fish in a four foot wide, ice cold stream, narrowly escaping a sow black bear that was eating only the cheek fat and leaving the rest for the bald eagles.

by:

I broke one of the lights on a 2009 Echo ATV trailer. These lights were an exact fit. The connectors were identical to the broken light which provided a quick plug and go solution. I purchased a new grommet to go along with the new light and it fit as it should. Simple and quick installation. I purchased 2 of these so that I would have a Fresh lens on both sides. The description on the website made an easy solution.

by:

Exact replacement, and easy to install.

by:

I was easily able to locate the trailer lights I required on this excellent website. Delivery was fast and the product was excellent. Thank you!

by:

It fit perfectly

by:

Exactly what I needed and delivered a day earlier than expected. Super competitive pricing. I may switch over to LED at some point, but glad I can still find these.

by:

Perfect. Great price & quick delivery!

by:

Quick Shipping...Exactly as described.

by:

Good replacement for My Ranger trailer, but wish I had purchased the rubber gaskets too!

Great product and fast shipping!

  • Trailer Light Kit Recommendation for a Pace Enclosed Trailer
For an LED trailer wiring kit that would work well on your Pace trailer I would recommend the part # TLL16RK. This part number comes with everything. The lights are rectangular though. To use the part # ST70RB you would need the grommets part # a70gb, the pigtail part # A45PB, brackets part # BK70BB, and # A35W42B.

  • Parts Needed for Connection and Installation of the Sealed Oval Trailer Stop Turn and Tail Light
Yes, the Sealed Oval Trailer Stop Turn and Tail Light, # ST70RB, can be installed on a trailer with a two wire system that has 3 function tail lights and Stop/Turn signal. You will need a pigtail to connect to the light and your trailer wiring. There are two options available, straight, # A45PB, and 90 degrees, # A47PB, see links. You may also need a grommet, # A70GB, and may need a Mounting Bracket, # BK70BB, to install these lights on your trailer. I produced a short video showing...

  • Replacement 6-1/2 inch Oval Tail Lights, Incandescent and LED
Yes, the Sealed, 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, 3-Function, item # ST70RB, should be the correct replacement for your Truck-Lite 60 taillight. The replacement grommet for this light is the Rubber Grommet for 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Tail Lights, item # A70GB. If you would like to upgrade to LED lights then you could use the Miro-Flex, Sealed, 6-1/2 inch Oval, LED Trailer Stop/Turn/Tail Light, 3-Function, 12 Diode, item # STL22RB, with the grommet mentioned above.

  • Is Optronics Trailer Tail Light # ST70RB the Same As Petersen Trailer Tail Light # M421KR
Yes. The M421KR is a Petersen part and the Optronics equivalent is the Sealed, 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, 3-Function, # ST70RB, that you have referenced. For a complete set up, you will need Rubber Grommet # A70GB, and Straight 3-Wire Pigtail, # A45PB.

  • Bargman 40-06-001 LED Replacement Trailer Tail Lights
Yes we do! The LED light that is comparable to the Bargman 40-06-001 and the Optronics # ST70RB that you referenced is the part # STL002RB with the staggered 3 pin connection. We also have the kit # TLL12RK which comes with the same size lights, grommets, and pigtails. The only differences are that they have a slightly different lens design and they use 12 diodes as opposed to 1. Installation videos have been linked for you to reference as well.

  • Troubleshooting Right Trailer Brake Light Not Functioning but All Other Lights Work
This sounds like a ground problem. A loose, broken, or corroded ground connection can cause all sorts of unwanted performance for electric components including trailer taillights. I would start with checking for a proper ground at the taillight itself. Many times, trailer taillights ground through the mounting studs. Check for any corrosion and give them a good cleaning to get the best connection. You will also want to check the ground at the front of the trailer for any dirt or corrosion....

  • Correcting Hyperflashing After Installation LED Taillights on 2004 Dodge Ram 3500
In order to stop your turn signals and brake lights from hyperflashing with your LED taillights, you will want to install LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors on the turn light and brake signal wires. Hyperflashing is a common issue when changing incandescent bulbs to LEDs. One of my fellow Experts put LEDs on his Dodge 2500 and ran into the same issue. He used the #DI34ZR Load-Resistors on his truck to solve the hyperflasing issue. I've attached an installation video of these load resistors...

  • Replacing Bulbs for etrailer.com Cargo Carrier Light Kit # 20174
The tail lights included with the Cargo Carrier Light Kit # 20174 are submersible and completely sealed so there's not a way to replace just the bulb. You could however just replace the light assemblies themselves with the Optronics # ST70RB, which is the light used in the kit. Assuming you have this plugged into a 4-Way on the vehicle...

  • 2013 Ford Escape Shows Bulb Out when Trailer with LED Lights is Connected
The bulb out error or hyper flashing can occur any time LED lights are used in place of incandescent lights. Usually this issue is found on vehicles but has been know to occur on trailers as well. You will need to make the tow package wiring on the vehicle think there is more draw from the lights. To do this I recommend using load resistors on the affected circuits. If the trailer lights use the 3-prong plug like # ST70RB you can use # ALEDRST1B. Or you could install resistors such as...

  • Installing a Light and Grommet On Trailer Troubleshooting
Without knowing exactly what light assemblies you have on your trailer it's a bit hard for me to say exactly how to reinstall them, but for the most part you will want to install the grommet first on the trailer and then slide the light into place after similar to the video I attached. You will see in the video that our installer used a bit of grease on the inside of the grommet to help the light slide into place easier.

When the light is mounted in the grommet, portion of the light that extends past the wall of the bumper will only be 1-11/32 inches. You should have no problem installing this in your 2 inch x 4 inch bumper.
