Note: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The leaf springs provide the attachment points for your trailer's axle, suspending it from the frame of your trailer. Each spring flexes to absorb road shock as you travel, allowing the axle to move somewhat independently of the rest of your trailer. This helps to reduce wear and tear on the trailer and also ensures a smooth ride.

Double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hanger with a suspension bolt. The other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. These straps allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem- or triple-axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs.

To mount this spring, you will need hangers, shackle straps, and suspension bolts. If you are simply replacing a spring, you may still have hangers welded onto your trailer. You should, however, replace your shackle straps because they are usually the first component to wear out. You may choose to replace old suspension bolts as well. It is recommended that you replace the other leaf spring in your setup at the same time. Because springs can sag and elongate as they wear, this new spring may not exactly match the old one, and the alignment of your trailer could be affected.

If you are fabricating a trailer, you will need to purchase a hanger kit for installation. To determine the type of hanger kit that you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring that you have, as well as your axle capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications. Hangers and other suspension components can also be purchased separately if there isn't a complete kit that works for your setup.

Perfect replacement springs for our 1967 Shasta Compact Trailer. "Daisy" will ride much nicer (and a tiny bit higher) with her new springs. After checking out all the videos and questions/answers etrailer had on leaf springs and also chatting with the folks on-line, we were confident that we had found the right leaf springs to replace our 57 year old ones.

Product was good, customer service turned me away from being a repeat customer. I ordered the wrong part, once I realized I ordered the wrong leaf spring I called immediately after I placed the order to cancel it and order the right one and was told since I already placed an order I would have to pay a restocking fee that was about 1/2 the price of the leaf spring. I was less than 5 minutes from when I placed the order to when I called to cancel it

i was looking for some springs that were rated for 1750 to 2000 lbs each. i ordered these and when they arrived i saw the tag on each spring then tried to return them but was told i could not. that is terrible customer service !!!! i in turn ordered another set from another supplier.

It sounds to me like you were needing part # e22YR, which is a 2,000 lbs leaf spring for a 4,000 lbs axle. I apologize for any confusion, and the fact that you were unable to return these springs.

by:

These hubs save time being pre-greased witch means alot for shop production. Shipped on time as always.

I was in need of springs for my boat trailer and went to Etrailer first. I have purchased many items, from tow bars to trailer parts and etrailer has what I need with excellent service, parts and shipping. These springs are new and well built.

by:

Leaf springs were great. One was missing a bushing, so they express mailed one to me right away. They are by far the best customer service of companies I deal with!

by:

Excellent Customer service!

by:

This part is not descriptive enough. I ordered these for a boat trailer. Axle is 2000 lbs. The boat weighs around 1400 lbs. These springs are only rate for 1000 lbs each. To me, that should be in the description. I had to place another order and have to take off the new spring and put the new order springs on. Thanks.

Whoah! Hang onto those springs! For a single 2000 pound axle trailer, each spring would be rated as 1000 pounds since 2 springs are used per axle. It is extremely common with boat trailers, especially.

Perfect. More perfect if made in USA!

  • Recommended Bolt On Hangers For Aluminum Frame Trailer
Since you've got an aluminum frame trailer, I understand why you're looking for a bolt on solution. The only available bolt on hangers we have available would be the # CE14017G and # CE14016G but they are designed for slipper springs and not double-eye springs like # e77SR you were looking at. If you went this route you would want to use something like the # SP-040275 as your springs, which have a 3700-lbs capacity. This would be the best solution available for your new aluminum trailer,...

  • Leaf Spring Recommendation to Replace 27 inch Long Spring on Camper with 1,500 lb Trailer Weight
Length-wise the leaf spring part # SP-210275 that you referenced is about right at 27 inches. Since your trailer only weighs 1,500 lbs though this is going to give you a somewhat rough ride quality. A better option would be # e77SR most likely as it has a 2,000 lb axle weight rating and is 26 inches long. I know that's an inch shorter than what you listed, but leaf springs stretch out over time as they wear out so your 27 inch springs were most likely a bit shorter when new like this spring.

  • Replacement Leaf Springs for Camper Trailer With 3,500 Pound Axle
You definitely do not want to use the # e77SR on your trailer with a 3,500 lb axle. These are rated for a 2,000 lb axle which is well under your capacity. If you need a 26" leaf spring I would not get the # e54SR since they're a bit too short. You're better off getting the # e22YR. This is rated slightly higher at 4,000 lbs but that won't be an issue for the trailer and will likely allow them to last a bit longer. These measure 26" which is what you were looking for.

  • How to Determine Replacement Leaf Springs for 1964 Travel Trailer
It looks like you're either needing the 26" Long # e77SR or the 27" Long # SP-210275. These are rated for about the same weight your looking at and they measure 1-3/4" wide. What you will want to do is take the pressure off of your leaf springs and then measure the center-to-center distance between the eyes. It is worth noting that your leaf springs may have elongated a little over time so if your leaf springs measure more like 26-1/4" then you'll want to go with the 26" leaf springs.

We do have a number of options for you to add leaf springs to go with the Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,000 lbs # e82GR. The right one is going to depend on some measurements though, as there isn't a spring designed specifically for any axle. So what you will want to do is measure the length of your current spring you are replacing from the center of one spring eye to the center of the other eye, and match that as close as you can. • Correct Replacement for 26-1/2 Long Leaf Spring
It's not uncommon for new trailer leaf springs to measure shorter than the old leaf springs they are replacing. The reason for this is that leaf springs stretch as they age. Therefore, I do think the 26" long leaf spring options we offer will work for you. In order to find the right one you just need to find your axle capacity; part # e77SR for 2,000 lb, part # e22YR for 4,000 lb, or part # e94SR for 6,000 lb. For new u-bolts, we have the 2" Square Trailer U-Bolt part # SP01-160.
