Note: To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.

Leaf springs are an integral part of your trailer suspension system. The leaf springs provide the attachment points for your trailer's axle, suspending it from the frame of your trailer. Each spring flexes to absorb road shock as you travel, allowing the axle to move somewhat independently of the rest of your trailer. This helps to reduce wear and tear on the trailer and also ensures a smooth ride.

Double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of this spring will attach directly to the hanger with a suspension bolt. The other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. These straps allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem- or triple-axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs.

To mount this spring, you will need hangers, shackle straps, and suspension bolts. If you are simply replacing a spring, you may still have hangers welded onto your trailer. You should, however, replace your shackle straps because they are usually the first component to wear out. You may choose to replace old suspension bolts as well. It is recommended that you replace the other leaf spring in your setup at the same time. Because springs can sag and elongate as they wear, this new spring may not exactly match the old one, and the alignment of your trailer could be affected.

If you are fabricating a trailer, you will need to purchase a hanger kit for installation. To determine the type of hanger kit that you need, you must know the specific type of leaf spring that you have, as well as your axle capacity. Depending on the hanger kits used with them, springs can be configured to work for single-, tandem- or triple-axle applications. Hangers and other suspension components can also be purchased separately if there isn't a complete kit that works for your setup.

Perfect fit and replacement for stock springs. Paired these with the CRE-3000 and heavy duty shackles.

by:

Great replacement leaf springs for my travel trailer.
Delivered in torn up box, luckily there was no damage.

by:

Big difference. Good price & quick delivery. I added some before and after pictures of the leaf springs under our travel trailer.

by:

The 26” on center leaf springs that I just purchased were delivered quickly and worked perfectly on my trailer. The only issue was that I ordered 3” shackle bolts (my fault) but really needed 3 1/2” so I returned them to etrailer. The return process was very easy, they sent me a RMA # and the shipping label my email, and I just dropped it off at the UPS store. Great doing business with etrailer!!!!!

by:

The new leaf springs came in quickly, were easy to install and are keeping their shape the way that they should. The RV manufacturer put cheap springs on the trailer and in only 2 years they were flat and unsafe, which is something being reported by a great number of people who have trailers from the same company, and they are breaking causing damage to the trailer and could potently get someone hurt or killed. I am thankful for the people at etrailer.com, because they helped me find the correct springs and got them to me quickly so I could replace them before leaving on a one-month trip.

Thank You!

by:

We bought one of these about a year and half ago. No issues so far so we bought another two, one to install, another as a backup in case the last factory leaf spring breaks.

Our factory leaf springs were rated at 1750 lbs, these are rated at 2000 lbs. Apparently the 1750 lbs are no longer available, but we.found these 2000 lbs. to work fine for our application. Glad glad we bought them.

by:

Appear to be excellent quality. Much better than the 20 year old springs they replaced. Had to do a lot of measuring as this was a custom made trailer from a local welder but everything from etrailer has fit well. Definitely sits a bit higher with new springs but that’s fine with me.

by:

I’m super happy I found this site. It’s very clear on exactly what you need. The staff is great and the products all are listed clearly. I will be using Etrailer to repair my camper from here on out.

by:

I ordered the wrong leaf springs on the recommendation of a local RV tech. When I realized about an hour later and found the right ones, I called to change the order, but was told it was “too far into the process” to cancel the original order. The order hadn’t been totally finalized and hadn’t actually been shipped yet, but all they offered was to send a return label if I wanted to pay for return shipping, which I did. I opted to order the replacement springs through a different company due to etrailer’s customer service response.

by:

These springs offer just enough load capacity to help with the weak springs found on many trailers equipped with 3500LB axles. They also offer an increased ride height of about 1-1 1/2 inches.

by:

Leaf springs looks good haven’t install them because I bought a pair to have on hand just in case .

by:

Bought 6 for tri axle trailer etrailer put all in one box that weighed 70lbs. Of course UPS is gonna throw it around. Well 2 are MIA only 4 made it

I am so sorry to hear that you are missing parts of your order! I will have our customer service team reach out to you about this.

by:

This is the second set of springs purchased to replace the stock 3500 LB. springs on two different trailers. These springs are what is needed to provide a better ride, and to eliminate the occasional "Bottoming out" of the axle to the frame without comprimising the weight limit of the axle.

by:

No complaints and installation was fairly straightforward. It fit fairly easily, and have had no issues since the installation approximataley year ago. The representative who took my order was patient and explained things; therefore gave me the confidence to do it myself. Thank you!

by:

These leaf springs did the job! My trailer is in great shape now. Thanks!!!

by:

Not thrilled they are made in China
Had
to replace plastic bushings with Bronze

by:

I spoke with Jessica at etrailer and explained to her the difficulty I was having with my trainers suspension. She helped me work out a solution and then immediately shipped the parts. Fantastic service!

by:

It works as advertised….. what more do u need?

by:

After my error on measuring, Paul was very helpful in getting me the correct length and weight of springs. Amazing what an inch and 500 pounds make

by:

Very Well made.High quality.

by:

I Installed it today. I'm happy with the quality and price.

by:

Exact replacement for broken leaf spring order bushings for spring pivot point on trailer mount and new shackle bolts too for a complete rebuild.

by:

JUST WHAT WE NEEDED. THANKS

by:

You need to advise the nimrod as myself how to measure for the correct length of a spring. All i had was a broken spring and the surviving opposite side spring and now I have purchased and installed two springs that are 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer then needed and I am in a dilemma. I did receive a response that the spring I did purchase may not perform properly. Hmmmm? Could this have been prevented by additional info at time of purchase...............I think so.

The best way to find out what size leaf springs you will need to measure from the center eye to center eye on the springs you have. I have a link below with some more information on the different springs that we carry. I also have a link with diagrams on how to measure correctly.

by:

Have used them over the years for different parts, have always come thru and ship out quick

  • Upgrading The Suspension On A 2015 Dutchmen Aerolite Travel Trailer
Awesome! It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. The leaf springs # e22YR will work perfectly at 26" long and should be a bit of an upgrade from the current spring. The Moryde equalizers # MR27ZR are also a great choice. Now we cannot always go off of the wheelbase to determine fitment. We would want to compare the size of the current equalizer to the Moryde equalizer. Measured center hole to center hole, the Moryde is 8" long and 3-1/2" tall. I have attached a picture...

  • Will Higher Rated Leaf Springs Last Longer on Coachmen Tandem Trailer With 3,500 Pound Axles
Upgrading from 3,500 lb to 4,000 lb leaf springs will make them last longer. Eventually they will flatten since it is inevitable, but with the higher rating it won't happen as fast. Since you're looking to make a small increase this also means it won't have a drastic impact on your ride quality with your trailer. Assuming you need a 26" replacement then the # e22YR will work for you. You have already replaced them once so you probably know this, but you want the replacement to match your...

  • How To Measure Broken Leaf Springs To Find The Correct Replacement
To properly measure your broken leaf spring you will want to take a measurement from the center of the spring eye to the center pin on the leaf spring along the curve(measurement B in image). As this measurement will be the same no matter how worn the spring has become, it is the best way to measure for a replacement. The other information needed it to find the correct weight capacity needed for the springs. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR for example are...

  • Replacement Leaf Springs for Camper Trailer With 3,500 Pound Axle
You definitely do not want to use the # e77SR on your trailer with a 3,500 lb axle. These are rated for a 2,000 lb axle which is well under your capacity. If you need a 26" leaf spring I would not get the # e54SR since they're a bit too short. You're better off getting the # e22YR. This is rated slightly higher at 4,000 lbs but that won't be an issue for the trailer and will likely allow them to last a bit longer. These measure 26" which is what you were looking for.

I recommend staying with the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb # e54SR. This will ensure that you do not have to change other parts of your suspension system and the trailer has the correct ride quality. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb # e22YR may have issues with contacting parts of the frame since the springs are 3/4-7/8" longer. To correct this your spring hangers would need to be moved. Thank you for providing that helpful information. Based on your measurement and the 3,750 lb axle rating I recommend the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e22YR. These leaf springs are slightly shorter but that won't be an issue. Leaf springs will become longer as they wear out, so a replacement will be shorter than your current measurement. The additional 3/4" is not enough to cause a problem if you added the # e22YR to your trailer. I definitely recommend replacing your 3,500 lb 26 inch leaf springs with the 26 inch 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR. The 4,500 lb would be too stiff and your ride would suffer so the better option by far are the 4k springs.
